QB Eagles

It seems like any time a team uses the tag, it just pisses the player off and they hold out.  Then the team either trades him or just removes the tag, ala Corey Simon.

That's going too far. The clear majority of franchise taggings work the way they are supposed to, with the player saying he's disappointed but showing up to work without any further bitching nonetheless. No question there have been a large number of players on which it has failed though, especially Philadelphia Eagles players.

Brad Johnson is Romo's new backup.  They also re-signed Gazoo for 2 more years....  :-D

Second of all....he isn't great in coverage but he's not abysmal at best like Lewis. Their cover skills aren't really close. At all.

untruth

but keep rewinding that joe horn highlite and believing in the eagles anti lewis hype...im sure they are glad youre on their side

hamlin is basically the same player as lewis...they are both big strong safties who bring it and have coverage skills that are not their strong suit...i personally wpuld take either you could do a lot worse in this league...but the bottom line is they are essentially the same player...

living in NY, where I don't have the luxury of every game being on tv,  I might as well "run errands" when I can't see the game

SS Ken Hamlin
• Scouting report Seahawks Overcame serious head injury sustained in 2005 to reclaim his starting spot last season and played well, especially versus the run. A big hitter with limited range and is always going to be most effective playing close to the line.
Possible landing spot: Houston, Carolina.

Scouting Report

Assets: An excellent run defender. A lights-out hitter who also makes plays in pursuit. Tall and well built. Has good hands and ball skills. A decent zone defender who gets a break on the ball. Punishes receivers over the middle.

Flaws Overaggressive. Can be faked out of plays and will get out of position. Not a top athlete who will turn and run with wide receivers. Has character issues and can be taken out of the game mentally.

Lewis might have a lot of problems on the field but off the field I believe his character is pretty stellar.

Therefore, if that blurb is correct, if all other things are equal then Lewis > Hamlin by default.

Spadaro's article specifically mentions the following people:

Daniel Graham, TE
Cato June, LB
Donte' Stallworth, WR
Correll Buckhalter, RB
Ken Hamlin, S
Robaire Smith, DT

Can you feel the excitement?

Good blocking TE; probably better than Schobel. No, is better than Schobel.

Cato June is small. I'm tired of tiny LBs.

Buck - meh. I would prefer Chris Brown or Corey Dillon.

Hamlin - sign him. That would be nice

Robaire Smith is a guy who I wanted the Eagles to sign before he left Tennessee for Houston and then went back to Tennessee. I wouldn't look at it like they are scared about Bunkley, I would look at it like they are more worried about Walker, Rayburn and those guys who have actually proven that they cannot stop the run.
