Apparently Reid's road rage son flashed a gun at the other driver and then took off. This was posted on th EMB by someone who heard it on ch17's news.

I had someone pull a gun on me once while driving. Scary shtein. I pulled up next to the guy and he had a nickel plated .45 pointed at me. I tore ass outta there and didn't care if I got hit when pulling into traffic. I was waiting for my back window to get shot out.

So... you're saying you gunned your Mustang?

(I know, I know.  I'm going to bed.)

I'll bet Andy doesn't allow his kids to talk to the press.

I hope somehow it isn't as bad as it might sound with the road rage stuff and the unconscious lady (or else the team may try to buy her off with a $20 discount on a season ticket package).

Edit for update:  when asked if he really thought the $20 figure would be suffecient, AR said "...ahem, I think we'll be ok there"

It's hard to speculate on the road rage thing. If the kid brandished a gun, he's looking at assault. And if he doesn't have a carry permit, that's trouble, as well.

If the gun angle is bogus, and he was just trying to rush to aid his brother, I can imagine a situation where some vigilante wannabe might try to get in his way or something. Something like that, while still wrong, might be more understandable.

The woman, should she end up okay, will be set for life.

Gimme a break.  Who are these kids, the Dukes of Hazard?  Exactly what kind of aid is a teenage brother gonna offer?  How does this idea even enter you peoples' heads?  It's ludicrous.

We can rule that out. Fox29 mentioned that the road rage was early in the day and the accident was in the afternoon. Supposedly the police report will be made public today for the road rage. I wonder if the guy exagerrated about the gun.

for real...who is he barnaby jones going to save his brothers life...if his brother was dying in his car on their way to the hospital then perhaps measures like waving a toolie at people might be accepted...but on the way to an accident?

Tell me that if a family member or other loved one is in a wreck, you wouldn't try to get to them to help. I know it probably not a lot of use, but the instinct would be to get to them.

Anyway, as Phreak mentioned, it's all moot anyway.

I would go to the hospital, like a normal person.  Only thing I would accomplish by going the cowboy route is frustrate myself and hinder the professionals who are capable of offering actual aid.

it's hard to predict what you would do until you actually get the call.  and even then, it depends on the variables of the situation.

Agreed.

My wife was in an accident last week. It was minor, and no one was hurt other than some fenders. But I couldn't be sure about that at the time. It didn't stop me from high tailing it out of work and breaking more than one traffic law on my way to the scene.

No, it's not and no, it doesn't.  You go to the hospital.  Find me a cop or fireman who condones doing otherwise.  They have a job to do and you have to let them do it.

Jesus, you guys think you're Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible or something. Get a grip.  You cause a wreck on the way there, you belong in jail.

Dio, have a family member hanging on for life.  Then be over an hour away and you really think you would drive the speedlimit the entire way  ???  I know it doesnt apply in andys sons case but when i got the call that my cousin was in an accident and not expected to make it, i drove my grandparents and now wife back from Bethany Beach to Christiana hospital (usually 1.5 to 2 hour drive)in under an hour.
