who cares about awards

Well, the Commissioner's Trophy is a nice one to have.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Nick Swisher traded to the Yankees for 3 players, and they might offer Sabathia 6/$150M

Florida continued their dumping of players by trading Kevin Gregg to the Cubs

And they'll still miss the playoffs

I didn't realize Oliver Perez was an F/A, I hope he winds up in the AL.

Top 10 Free Agents

No Burrell?
hah!  #1,2,4,&5 will be yankees.

They already offered CC the richest contract for a pitcher in MLB history.  He would be an idiot to stay in Milwaukee.

Only by the standards of a moneylover.

Wrong.  Seriously... Would you rather live in NYC or Milwaukee?  If you answer Milwaukee, you might as well just die in a pool of Beast Ice.

Neither.  I hate cities altogether.  Too many damned people.

LOL at Milwaukee being a city.

And I got to thinking about the Yankees offering the top three pitchers contracts.  If they spent that money actually drafting and developing players like they did in the early 1990's they'd be perennial legitimate threats to win the Series.  As it is now they're just chasing other teams' used cars.  How sad (and by sad I mean fricken hysterical) that even in a market that is so competitively imbalanced as MLB is those clowns can't win anything.

They might catch lightning in a bottle again if they can get Sabathia, Teixeira, Lowe, and Burnett.
