Not a bad gamble for the Pads.  If Prior can shake the injury bug, they will have a sick(er?) rotation.

It's a great gamble.  They're paying him peanuts even if he doesn't throw a pitch and if he does somehow pitch well, $3M for a front-line starter is less than peanuts.

He won't be ready until mid-May or so, but still, if he comes back strong he could be a great second half shot in the arm for the Padres.
