i'm not thrilled that the yanks signed him but i can't blame clemens for what he's doing.

He's still a clown, but no I dont blame him. Its Cashman, Pupura and the other GMs who get on their knees and blow him. I wouldn't be surprised if they let him sleep with their wives too.

All he is is an independent contractor. In every other profession, when you get to be really good at your job, and your skills are in demand, and you have enough money that you don't have to work unless you want to, you can hire yourself out to for short term jobs to whoever will pay you. He's just taking that concept and applying it to baseball. There's no reason to hate him for it.

i don't really like clemens because of his days w/ boston...and i don't think he'll make them a championship contender so i'd rather see them go with youth to develop the young guys.

money has absolutely nothing to do with it...when it comes to baseball, salary talk is for loozahs.

One last thing on Josh Hancock:

Teammate Jim Edmonds said he didn't think Hancock had a drinking problem. He believed that by eliminating one of several elements - alcohol, talking on the cell phone, speeding, a tow truck parked in a traffic lane with somewhat limited visibility - Hancock probably would have made it to his destination.

I'm pretty sure that if you eliminated the tow-truck from the equation, things would have been OK.

One more exhibit to the "Athletes should shut the farg up" argument.
