he had shanked 2 yesterday and his avg was still 49.5, pure definition of inconsistent.

one of his shanks was on a 2nd kick after a stupid (illegal shift) penalty.  the first kick was a beauty.  not trying to really make excuses for the guy, but it seems that whenever any punter has to re-kick, bad things happen.

and how in the farg do you get called for illegal shift in a farging punt formation anyway?  i didn't even think that was possible.

So, sb, you think Rocca is consistent enough and should still be the punter? I love the fact he can boom some, but those are not commonplace.

Lechler is a consistent boomer. So are Scifres and McBriar.

Daisher sucks as bad as Rory

He's not as bad as Corky The STs coach was.

He had good squads in Cleveland

Munson

You can't have more then one person moving during cadence no matter what formation you are in. Same with illegal formation....even if you're punting, you still have to have enough people on the LOS, etc...

Rocca has been fine. Yeah, he shanks some, but so do a lot of guys. A lot of guys don't have the leg he has, either. I'd like to see him get a little better at directional kicking.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

When does it get the point where you stop looking at the ST coaches and just think maybe it is the players who suck if the outcome remains the same?

what i'm saying is he's inconsistent, and only gets worse in the cold.  But who are you honestly going to bring in?  He's pretty decent on his directional kicks, but when he's backed up, the pressure or something gets him.

Hey, how was that vaunted defense yesterday?

I don't have any names to throw out there, but I'd start with someone who has punted in the NFL or college before.

They took a shot on him and hoped his big leg would help turn field position around. It does on occasion, but not enough to feel good about. He also doesn't seem to have the touch to drop one inside the 10/20 when he has to.

He's had some great games. Was it the Minnesota game last year when he had several great punts? I don't recall.

Solid enough.

Wait until a loss to finally come out and speak your mind, eh?
