Could someone tell me what Willis' size is? The weaknesses say he need to bulk up....I'm sick of undersized SAM's and MLB's.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Size is probably his only issue, he is 230.

Blah...230 and not even that good in pass coverage?

I think the MLB in this defense needs to be atleast 245....255 preferably. THe teams bad enough against the run as it is, no use putting another undersized guy out there.

Right, because players like Jonathan Vilma suck hard.  Also, players never gain any muscle weight after college.

Watch GAME TAPE MUNSON.  The same shtein was said about RayRay coming out of the U

Ray was really small coming out of college, he obviously isn't anymore.

Hey if he has the tools to be a Ray, then I'm all for it....Hell, Gaither is underszied a bit but he has a few physical tools that have allowed him not to get blown up by blockers, shed blocks, and even make some plays. If this Willis guy has those types of abilities that would make his size a non-factor then please draft him. Especially if he can put on muscle weight.

I'm just sick of undersized LB's who are no good against the run (edit) and get blown up by blockers.

linebacker size is way overrated

the biggest linebacker is taking an L vs the smallest lineman no matter how you look at it

you need big d lineman far more than you need big linebackers

in the league today linebackers need to be able to read react with quickness and then have the burst to get to a hole or spot

mike singletary was the definition of that and showed that you didnt need big bulky mlb's anymore

Woodley is a stud. I don't think he'll be there.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.

This is all very true.

Now look at the Eagles DT's.

We need a big MLB.

Unfortunately, the Eagles also have small DLs that get destroyed at the point of attack.  I wish they could just have one fat guy there in the middle.  They have never really had that since Reid and Co have been here.  Hollis was the closest thing and he wasn't always as big as he was this year.

Griffin would make me happy. It'll all come down to the combine I think. Nelson, Landry and Griffin are pretty talented and have been production guys.

Quote
Michael Griffin S 6' 205 Texas
By: Robert Davis
Very few defensive backs have been as productive as Michael Griffin. As a freshman, he had 65 tackles, five for loss, and two sacks. As a sophomore, Griffin was in on 49 tackles, two for loss, a sack, and an interception. None of that was an indication of what he would do as a junior though. Griffin earned 1st Team Big 12 honors after finishing with 124 tackles, four for loss, three interceptions, and four blocked punts. He had another fantastic season as a senior, ending with 116 tackles, four for loss, with one sack and four interceptions.

Michael Griffin is as intelligent and aggressive as any safety in this draft. He quickly diagnoses the play and gets to the action whether it is a run or pass. He flies toward the action, and lays players out as if he were much bigger. In pass coverage, he has the athleticism to cover and ball skills to make plays on the ball. Griffin is also a fantastic special teamer. He possesses the knack for blocking punts, as he has blocked six in his career.

There is not anything physically that stands out about Griffin. His size is only average by NFL standards, and he does not posses great speed. That is about it with Griffin, as he is a complete football player.

In a safety class that is shaping up to be very talented at the top, Griffin has solidified himself amongst the elite. He is arguably the top safety in the draft, stacking up with Landry and Nelson. He will have an impact from the start, and could be a pro bowler someday.
