==
01. Oakland Raiders - WR Calvin Johnson, Georgia Tech

Al Davis wants to take the best available athlete, with a 45 inch vertical leap, Johnson fits that bill.
==
02. Detroit Lions - OT Joe Thomas, Wisconsin

Whoever the Lions QB of the future may be, the program needs a premium left tackle.
==
03.* Cleveland Browns - QB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame

Local boy makes good, Quinn to the Browns would make the Dawg Pound go woof.
==
04.* Tampa Bay - QB Jamarcus Russell, L.S.U.

Gruden needs to find a quarterback to run his offense and provide that missing spark in the huddle.
==
05. Arizona - DE Jamaal Anderson, Arkansas

The Cardinals' pass rush needs to get better, Anderson is an elite rusher.
==
06. Washington taterskins - DE Gaines Adams, Clemson

The taterskins cash in on their only first round pick with another elite rusher in Adams.
==
07. Minnesota Vikings - DB Laron Landry Louisiana State

Trade down for WR perhaps, but if not their safety situation looks bleak.
==
08. Houston Texans - RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma

The Texans get another chance to draft a franchise back, will they take it?
==
09. Miami Dolphins - QB Colt Brennan, Hawaii

Brennan may opt out of draft, at which point we will opt him out of our mock draft.
==
10. Atlanta Falcons - DB Reggie Nelson, Florida

The weakness of the Falcons defense is the deep middle, Nelson has the range to ballhawk.
==
11.  San Fran 49ers - DE Charles Johnson, Georgia

As the 49ers continue to build their defense, players like Johnson can help them take the next step.
==
12. Buffalo Bills - CB Darrelle Revis, Pittsburgh

The Bills will need protection if Nate Clements leaves as a free agent.
==
13. St. Louis Rams - DT Alan Branch, Michigan

The Rams, thankfully, can end the Jimmy Kennedy experiment with the addition of Branch.
==
14. Carolina Panthers - WR Ted Ginn Jr., Ohio State

Explosive player can give opposing defenses more to worry about then Steve Smith.
==
15. Pittsburgh Steelers - OT Levi Brown, Penn State

Former taterskins great Russ Grimm gets an elite OT for his offense.
==
16. Green Bay - RB Marshawn Lynch, California

Green is a great player but has had nine hard years in the league and his production has declined.
==
17. Jacksonville Jaguars - LB Lawrence Timmons, Florida State

A nasty defense keeps getting nastier as Timmons upgrades the outside linebacking spot.
==
18.  Cincinatti Bengals - DT Amobi Okoye, Louisville

Hard working Okoye projects as a poor man's Sam Adams, once he fills out his 19 year old frame.
==
19.  Tennessee Titans - WR Dwayne Bowe, Louisiana State

Pro-ready Bowe will provide Young with options should Drew Bennett test the waters of free agency.

20.  N.Y. Giants - LB Paul Posluszny, Penn State

The Giants nead players who can look into the huddle and hold people accountable when things aren't going right.
==
21.  Denver Broncos - CB Chris Houston, Arkansas

Broncos need a physical bump and run cornerback, Houston could leap into the first round with a fast time.
==
22.  Dallas Cowboys - DE Quentin Moses, Georgia

The Boys could take Moses and stand him up at linebacker. Still elite lateral quickness, despite senior campaign.
==
23.  Kansas City Chiefs - OT Justin Blalock, Texas

The Chiefs are desperate for OT help and aren't going to get it in free agency.
==
24.  New England Patriots (VIA Sea) - CB Leon Hall, Michigan

Leon Hall is a Ty Law clone and replaces Asante Samuel who will likely find a big pay day elsewhere.
==
25.  N.Y. Jets - DE Adam Carriker, Nebraska

Workouts could push Carriker higher but there aren't that many 3-4 teams who need to upgrade DE.
==
26.  Philadelphia Eagles - LB Patrick Willis, Mississippi

Trotter is a honorable warrior but will not be around forever. Willis could be tabbed as heir to the Eagles MLB position.

==
XX.  Baltimore Ravens - LB Lamarr Woodley, Michigan

Similar to FA DE Adalius Thomas, Woodley is a versatile player who flat out makes plays.
==
XX.  San Diego Chargers - WR Dwayne Jarrett, Southern Cal

The playoff game will probably leave the Chargers seriously considering upgrade for the WR position.
==
XX.  Indianapolis Colts, - DT Justin Harrell, Tennessee

Prior to injury was the toughest and best of the senior DT prospects. Watch for a rebound.
==
XX.  Chicago Bears - WR Jeff Samardzija, Notre Dame

Best case for the Shark, could he pursue a two sport dream in Chi town?
==
XX. New Orleans Saints - TE Zach Miller, Arizona State

Miller has shades of Todd Heap and makes a scary Saints offense even scarier.
==
XX. New England Patriots - RB Brian Leonard, Rutgers

Leonard replaces Dillon as short yardage back, can also play Heath Evans' H-Back role.

Willis' Profile:
Quote
Strengths:
A very good athlete...Has excellent instincts...Good speed and quickness with the range to go sideline-to-sideline...A big hitter and reliable tackler...Is strong and powerful...Was extremely productive...Versatile and could conceivably play either inside or outside...Good pass rusher on blitzes...Tough guy who will do whatever it takes to get on the field...Hard worker and a leader with top-notch intangibles.

Weaknesses:
Moves well and is adequate in coverage but nothing special and he can still stand to improve in that area...Needs to bulk up and get a little bigger...Plays too high at times...Gets overwhelmed by massive blockers...Has some durability concerns.

Notes:
Won the Butkus award as a senior...17-year-old brother, Detris, drowned in July of 2006...Has overcome a lot in his life to get where he is...Is heavily involved in community service...Is a great person and player who will be an asset to a team both on and off the field...Is simply one of the best linebackers available this year

I've also seen a lot of mocks that have the Birds taking Samardzija, but only if Stallworth isn't resigned. I'll be farging pissed if Donte walks, and probably more so if the Birds try to replace him with a rookie. [igy] Especially a white rookie[/igy]

Patrick Willis would be an outstanding pick.  However, we all know that AR and Co are not going to draft a LB in the 1st round.

Maybe they'll draft him, but make him a FB.  With hilarious results.

Probably true, but if it isn't a LB, it sure as hell better be on a safety. I can't think of anything more of pressing need than a LB or safety spot.

According to this mock, Lamar Woodley would still be on the board, he would be a great pick for this team.  A guy that could play SAM that has size and can rush the passer, what a novel idea.

They could just say they are adding depth.

yep....hell they started mccoy and gocong has to be better than him right?...therefore gocong starts

would anyone have a problem if the eagles drafted all defensive players?

Not if they keep Stallworth.

If they keep Stallworth and do something smart about the RB corps (dump Reno and Moats, sign someone like Duckett)...then no, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

No problem that is, except for the fact that the previous drafts were so poor that it was necessary..

Not if they keep Stallworth.

If they sign Stallworth and bring in a legit change of pace back, they could draft all defensive players for the next two drafts and I'd be happy.
