Seattle vs, San Fran tonight...

QuoteThursday night's game between the Seahawks and 49ers is expected to be played under very windy conditions in Seattle.
Forecasts predict gusts over 70 miles per hour, which could mean a lot of carries for RBs Frank Gore and Shaun Alexander. "Wind changes a lot of stuff, if it's real, real windy," coach Mike Holmgren said. "Then it's a little more problematic when it comes to throwing the ball, or kicking it. That's the worst. That's worse than snow or rain."

Sgt PSN

Andy Reid sez "Throw the ball.  They'll never see it coming."

I'm hoping Frank Gore puts up huge numbers.  Papa needs a new pair of shoes.

Me too. I have him and Alexander starting in my $$ league.

Rome

Doesn't Seattle have a retractable roof?

Sgt PSN

The Mariners do but the Seaslugs don't.

DH

40.5 O/U...I wasnt gonna bet because I got hammered last week, but those 70 mph winds makes me think the under is a good bet...

Thoughts?

I'd say that is a decent bet. Remember when SF and CHI played in that windy ass game in 2005? That was when Nathan Vasher took the missed FG 107 to the house.

The only thing to be wary of is that both Gore and Alexander can run it up. They mess around and get 5 TDs between them it could get a little dicey. SF's run defense is not good.

Games affecting the NFC playoffs this week; who do we root for?

San Francisco at Seattle
Dallas at Atlanta
N.Y. Jets at Minnesota
Pittsburgh at Carolina
Washington at New Orleans
Philadelphia at N.Y. Giants
St. Louis at Oakland

SF is 5-8, SEA is 8-5 -- root for the 49ers
DAL is 8-5, ATL is 7-6 -- do we want DAL to lose to help at maybe winning the NFCE or ATL for WC purposes?
NY is 7-6, MIN is 6-7 -- root for the Jets
PIT is 6-7, CAR is 6-7 -- root for the Steelers
WAS is 4-9, NO is 9-4 -- root for NO so we can point and laugh
STL is 5-8, OAK is 2-11 -- root for the Raiduhs

DH

I thought the similar thing re: Gore and Alexander. Plus, I could definitely see an ill-advised INT being taken back for a TD, especially watching how Hasselbeck played against GB a few weeks back in the snow.

As far as the Dallas game, heres how I see it...

I'm rooting for Atlanta. Hard. Very, very hard. True, a lot has to do with the fact that I hate Dallas about as much as I do Osama, but it makes sense too...As long as we are a game back of Dallas or better, next weeks game becomes a first place matchup. Wildcard is fine and all, but if were gonna make the playoffs and ruin our chances at shuffling the coaching personel, I want the division. So, if Dallas loses, we could get by with losing on Sunday and still win the division. Plus, the ATL on New Years Eve game will become a must win either way - wether it be for the last WC spot or the division clincher.

Personally, I know the shot at winning the division is next to none, but Im pinning any playoff hopes on it. The WC is for nancies.

Sure.  Why not.
It's not even a question.  Unless they're playing the skins, you can't even consider wanting Dallas to win.  Ever.
Yes, of course.  AFC team.
Naturally.  See above.
No.  I want Washington to win, so NO doesn't stay on a roll.  Plus, it will add hilarious hope to ES and we can point and laugh at them for that.
Who cares?

If the Eagles win and Cowboys lose this weekend, both will be 8-6 with Philly holding the temporary tie breaker until the 2 teams meet up the following week.

If San Fran beats Seattle and Philly beats the Giants and the Falcons beat the Cowboys, then Philly and the Seahawks would be tied for the #3 seed with Seattle holding the tie breaker.

I feel retarded for even thinking this, but it's still mathematically posssible for the Eagles to win the division and the #3 seed in the conference.   And as cool as that would be, it's even more pathetic that it's a possibility.

San Francisco at Seattle - My personal hatred for the 49ers makes it damn near impossible to cheer for them.
Dallas at Atlanta - Go Falcons.  Not even a question.  Never is.  Dallas has to die."
N.Y. Jets at Minnesota - Sure.  Go Jets.  More space between us and the Vikings can't hurt.
Pittsburgh at Carolina - AFC over NFC.  Again... creates space.
Washington at New Orleans - I was a HUGE Saints fan last week.  Almost as much this week.
Philadelphia at N.Y. Giants - Not sure about who I want in this one.  Can't decide
St. Louis at Oakland - Just win, baby.  Although I couldn't care less.  The Rams won't catch us.

So with that wind, should I bench Deion Branch? My other option is Chris Henry. And yes, I'm a game away from the championship.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Doesn't matter.  You'll be wrong either way.
