The North Carolina house voted 74-41 Thursday to pass SB 353, a bill originally written as a piece of motorcycle safety legislation that was amended Wednesday, to the surprise of some state lawmakers, to include numerous abortion restrictions. Supporters of the bill spoke Thursday of how the legislation could protect women from "vaginal organisms" at unclean facilities, among other things, while there was virtually no mention of motorcycles during the debate.

I'm not sure to what degree I've bought into the 'war against women' stuff, but this kind of sexist and demeaning practice is absolutely reprehensible. It should go down as a dark period in our nation's history and is a stain upon the very fabric of our freedoms.

we are in a time where its basically custards last stand and custard is the right in this country....they know they dont have much time left with the changing demographics of the country so they are pushing everything in to the middle of the table and going all scorched earth....while its tough for them to win national office at the state level they are absolutely out of control....north carolina right now is the perfect example...five years ago it was becoming a pretty reasonable southern state....still red but headed towards a nice shade of purple....then 2010 the republicans took over the house and they won the gov office and since then they have gone completely off the reservation passing all kinds of hideous laws
