I'm left leaning but section 4 of the VRA as applied is unconstitutional - I agree with the majority unfortunately.  The sad thing is I think the law does a lot of good, I just wish they expanded it to cover all of the other racially discriminatory practices in Ohio and the like.  If they did, the law wouldn't have been gutted today.  Unfortunately there's no evidence in 2013 that the areas covered by it are any more discriminatory than other areas without the VRA, which is what the problem is.
