Been listening for about a half hour or so.  This priest or bishop or whatever the farg he was, was just comedic.  Actually, I've been laughing my ass off pretty much the entire time I've been listening.

Yeah the Priest is still going right now. Just basically said homosexual families are more likely to *list of bad things here* than straight couples.

It's been painful listening because it's been mostly Republicans and their witnesses talking, but Harris B McDowell (who is questioning the PRiest now) shredded the last witness pretty good on the civil rights stuff.

McDowell just got in a good jab at the Priest as well "Are you aware of the divorce rate of straight marriages? The reason I'm asking is because you may very well be making an argument for gay marriage."

He's my district's senator. Pretty good dude, though he's been in the Senate forever.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Munson

lol "We've gone from HB75 to secret recordings of a Russian journalist at a national conference...."

Basically the Senate Dems are getting fed up with where all the arguments are going.

Yeah, that was awesome.

I'm actually a bit disappointed that they stopped the guy talking right now when he mentioned the lesbian Russian/American journalist from completing his thought because I wanted to hear what part of her comments he did agree with.

Munson

hah, oh boy...we're back to gay being a "behavior of choice".

Vote passes 12 yes, 9 no, woo!

Markell will sign, and Delaware will become the 11th state to legalize gay marriage.

Rome

Why are you excited, Munson?   Nine iceholes voted "no" for equality.

IN DELAWARE.  In Mississippi?  Sure, I could see that.  But not in a northeastern liberal state like farging Delaware.

Oh, yeah... this country is something special, alright.

Just like New York or Pennsylvania, when you leave certain areas of Delaware, it basically becomes backwoods redneck country. Between Wilmington and the Delaware beaches, there's a whole lotta nuttin in between. Farms and God and Republicans.

Well sure, I understand that.  Hell, the Pine Barrens ain't exactly Greenwich Village.

I'm just saying that while it's nice that 12 people in Delaware did the right thing, it should have been 21 out of 21.

Munson

Of course it should have been, but regardless of what those other 9 douche bags think, gay people in Delaware will still get married and they can do farg all about it.

He's actually right.  New Castle county above the canal = Southern PA.  South of Middletown is mostly SOMD

Well yeah, but trying to judge Delaware without Wilmington and the beaches is like trying to judge Pennsylvania without Philly or Pittsburgh, or Maryland without the DC burbs and Baltimore. You can't just take out the biggest population centers of a state and say "It's a republican redneck state!"...especially when the state politics of Delaware, more so lately lately, have tended to be more liberal than Pennsylvania. Even the liberal stronghold of Maryland didn't legalize gay marriage until this past election.

But hell...i'd put the cutoff point to Deliverance even a little higher than the canal...Basically anywhere south and east of 95, once you get south of Wilmington.
