The last thing I'd ever do is beat the drum for Ryan but who was he supposed to pick?

Rubio would have been a good choice, he's not as controversial as Ryan and seems like he's actually a decent human being for a Republican. I think he's going to be the rights Presidential nominee within the next 8 years.

Rubio would have softened the extreme whiteness of the Republican ticket.  This guy only makes the campaign more appealing to the people who were already going to vote for it anyway.

I wonder if Rubio would have even accepted if he was asked by Romney.  His interview on the Daily Show was a good one.  I agree with almost none of his policy stances but he is charismatic and seems to be intelligent.

Romney is gambling that old people are too committed to hating Obama to realize that the Ryan Romney budget plan totally fargs them. Pretty safe bet actually.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

ice grillin you

thats definitely true in some cases but there are a lot of old people who would vote for django before they voted for someone who was trying to farg with their money and medicine

I played golf today with a guy who is a deputy sheriff (pretty high up in the department too) and he was adamant about voting for Romney.  He didn't care if Romney hates public service employees.  He just wanted Obama out at any cost.

Nothing says smrt(!) quite like voting against your own interests and not even out of ignorance either.

Incredible.

Munson

Fox news did a great job of beating that propoganda into the heads of people for 4 years. Its sad.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

If I were filthy rich I'd still vote for Obama.  When you're that wealthy, really, a million here or there isn't a big farging deal.  The thing is, though, those bastiches are so entitled with their millions they actually think they don't owe anything to anyone.  I hear it every day, Munson.  My taxes are too high!  Wah!  farg you, already.  Pay your taxes or sell your big ass house(s) and buy something with less of a tax burden.

the more i read about ryan and his budget the more realize why the right loves him so much....hes farging ronald reagan...tax cuts for the rich....farg the poor disadvantaged and weak and hope one day a little something trickles down

oh and education is apparently overrated....170 billion in pell grant cuts

i think his budget also cuts three of the four food groups

Lol!

'The Path to Prosperity' as the plan is so grandly titled, also has a freeze on federal employees pay. It also has only two tax brackets, 10% and 25%, which would eliminate all the loopholes that rich people use to keep from paying the full amount.

Imo, no one should have to pay more than 25%.

Because they can without being hurt, and they didn't get it on their own.  They are lucky enough to live in a society that is structured so that some of the people can become fantastically wealthy, and extremely lucky to have become one of those few people.  The price they ought to pay for thier incredible good fortune is a much higher tax rate.  It's only fair that, on income above a given amount set high enough to make sure they can afford food shelter etc (let's say $350k per year), all further income should be taxed at a very high rate.  The rest of society, without whom these people could  not become wealthy, has needs as a whole which cannot be financed on the backs of the poor and middle class equally.  They must have generous support from the rich if the rich want to keep being rich.  Clean water, roads, schools which produce educated workers, etc...starve these things by making the poorest people pay the greatest share for them, and they will wither and die, and then soon thereafter, so will the rich people.  We'll eat them.

After you can pay for your food and shelter and kids to go to whatever school they want and you've got your two car garage and your three fifty thousand dollar cars and your 50k per year going into retirement savings, the rest of your income is gravy and ought to be taxed out the ass.
