Obama's tax and regulation plan would be extremely bad right now for a struggling economy.  That said, even with a Democratic congress, I don't expect much of it to get passed.  As evidenced by the last two years, the Demos in congress are geldings and are clearly as bought and sold as their Republican counterparts.

Honestly, all the drama about the next President and the direction of the country is so overdone, when you realize just how little capability those assfaces have to actually do anything of value.

farg it, let's go eat some paste.

This is exactly why I would vote for just about any canidate who would try to issue term limits for congress. I seriously doubt it would get past said congress though.

Still, it would break all the "good old boy" ties that have been in place for tens of years.

Obama's tax plan would be extremely good for the struggling economy.  Less taxes on 95% of us means more consumer spending power, and that's what this farged up confidence game we call "the economy" is based on.

The rich and the corporations have had their run on of late.  They'll be fine under Obama.  Hell, they'd be fine under Chavez.

The distribution of wealth question has been answered incorrectly in this country for a long time.  Middle class people don't exist anymore; it is virtually impossible to keep a household on one income, and that's a crying shame, especially in the richest country ever.  Anything that can be done to restore a system which rewards responsible, reliable working citizens is good.  Anything that rewards corporations and rich people is not good.

More money to spend doesn't mean much if prices are up to compensate for corporate taxation.

The reason people can't survive on one income anymore is access to debt, plain and simple.  If people had to pay cash for everything, prices would be wildly lower.  Over time, we've become accustomed to leveraging debt to make virtually every large purchase.  Unfortunately, there is no responsible way to reverse this quickly, and no one in Congress has motivation to enact a plan to fix it over time.  As we learned with the housing bailouts, the Democrats and Republicans are equally non-desirous to let their buddies in the banking industry twist in the wind.

People ridiculously assume the government caused and should fix all their problems.  It's our own fault, really.  And until some of these banks are allowed to fail and more people experience the pain of over-using debt, nothing is really going to change.  Husbands and wives will both work, and the kids will go to day care.  And if there aren't two parents, the government is probably paying a lot of the bills.

State of the race: whoever can shout their lies the loudest and the most often wins.

*sigh*
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

So, pretty much the same as every other election we could participate in, eh?

Wait, so you're saying for the record that if Obama wins, he's lied the loudest and most often of the two?
