Just to harp on Obama's 'bitter' quote a little more...

The most frustrating part of this whole thing is that if this had been worded more effectively it would have been a strong rallying cry. Small town folks, frustrated with the way the government has treated them, embracing the things that they know and understand and looking for a candidate to change things for the better.

Could have had a positive impact and now he has to play defense. Stupid stupid stupid.

No doubt it was a farg-up (I just realize I forgot to make that point in my post), but I'm surprised it hasn't caused much of a shtein-storm.  It is being reported, but still in a "he-said, she said" form, not in the one-sided "this is the fact" reporting that followed the Bosnia lie.  We'll have to see what happens in the polls this week.

Wow...Bernstein isn't much of a Hillary fan...

QuoteWhat will a Hillary Clinton presidency look like?

The answer by now seems obvious: It will look like her presidential campaign, which in turn looks increasingly like the first Clinton presidency.

Which is to say, high-minded ideals, lowered execution, half truths, outright lies (and imaginary flights), take-no prisoners politics, some very good policy ideas, a presidential spouse given to wallowing in anger and self-pity, and a succession of aides and surrogates pushed under the bus when things don't go right. Which is to say, often.

And endless psychodrama: the essential Clintonian experience that mesmerizes the press, confuses the citizenry, confounds members of both parties in Congress (not to mention the Clintons themselves, at times) and pretty much keeps the rest of the world constantly amused and fixated.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

LOL at Gore wanting Hilary to quit, pot kettle on line 2.

You have the gall to say this after the last eight years of Bush's ineptitude and outright criminality?

Good god, man.

phillymic2000

What does my comment have to do with Bush? Him and Clinton should have been gone from the white house for all thier shannagins. I am talking about THis story, and found it funny that Gore would get involved after he held on to the 2004 election. Get a grip man.

Rome

Um, Bush and his gang of thugs stole the election from Gore in 2000.  That's what it has to do with him.

Saw this in a rumor section post (from TheStreet.com):

8. Senator John McCain is close to offering the Republican Vice Presidential position to former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

:-D Give it up already.

Phanatic

Gore did actually win the popular vote at the time. A little different for him to hang in there for vote counts when Hillary doesn't have much a chance in hell of catching Obama but I get the analogy...

The analogy is fine. Erroneous, but understandable from a conservative point of view.

Laughing off what happened in Florida in 2000 is un-American. The political process was circumvented in ways that should be appalling to anyone no matter what your political affiliation. People were lied to and forcefully turned away from voting locations. That shtein happens in revolution-torn third-world countries. Not in the US. That shtein starts riots in other countries. Apparently it causes laughter in the US.

Give us our central air and SUVs and we'll put up with anything...

SunMo

you've been saying that a lot lately, you must really want central air
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

rjs246

Nothing is air-conditioned in this god-forsaken town. Which, of course, explains why I've become so surly lately. I was all peaches and sunshine before. Seriously.

Try living in Florida without it.

I don't have fake balloon breasts to distract me from the heat in the summer. Just toothless coffee addicts and alcoholic union pensioners.

You haven't been to Naples.  All the breasts are old and saggy.

Sounds like SUVs and central air are all you have to live for. I may have to rethink this whole thing...
