The only reason I hope McCain picks Crist is to get him the hell out of Florida.

tim russert is on chris matthewsm and is citing a brand new marist poll that has mccain beating hillary or obama in a general election in NEW YORK of all places...he said if this is even close to true the republicans will win minimum 45 states in november

only the democrats in maybe the most important election in a 40 years would throw out a black guy and maybe the most polarizing figure in the united states who also happens to be a woman as their candidates

so youre telling me white people judge politicians by skin color?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

All people judge all people by skin color is closer to the :CF truth.

MDS

yea but white people have no excuse

Colin Powell:
  • Has not decided which of the three candidates he would vote for
  • Thinks what Rev. Wright said was deplorable, but that Obama handled it well without abandoning the man
  • Thinks that Obama makes up for any lack of experience by demonstrating his ability to organize, citing his campaign as an example

Not an endorsement, but damn close.

powells endoresement is meaningless...if he ever does give it people will just say of course powell supports obama they are both black...the one that obama really needs is edwards...a big time democratic white southerners endorsement would carry quite a bit of weight

Do you think Edwards is holding out for the VP nod?  I can't think of any other reason why he would be holding back on this.

thats quite possible....he could also be waiting for the time when their is a clear winner if not an officially declared winner...

he also has a big problem with obamas health care package and doesnt support it at all...he may support obama overalll but his concience wont allow him to endorse him as long as obamas health care package isnt universal...in fact elizabeth edwards was making the rounds this week on the talk shows saying how she supports hillarys health care plan over obamas

This is an issue I really don't get: Hillary's health plan is only universal if you can afford it.  If you can't afford it, you pay anyway.  WTF?  I could see the difference if she were pushing for a single-payer government system, but her plan is identical to Obama's except for the penalty for opting out.

they believe you make it affordable for everyone but everyone has to get it...the plan makes sure that no one pays more than a small % of their income on health care

universal health care is a deep and dear issue to democratics...in fact along with civil rights and quality public education its the foundation the party sits on...and most dems dont wanna hear about a plan if it isnt universal

I heard Mrs. Edwards on NPR the other day. Basically she believes that the average middle class person could not afford what she went through with Cancer within the current healthcare system in most cases. Not only taking up for people without healthcare but also trashing our current system.

But that's the point - Obama's plan does exactly the same thing.  The only difference is that Hillary wants to penalize people for not paying.  It isn't universal - it is mandatory.  Big difference.
