Racism is veiled on many levels and this is the problem I see with people voting for Obama. A lot of them will say out loud they don't care if a candidate is black or white but underneath it all is where the little voice in their head is saying vote for whitey.

absolutely right....which is why what rendell did is so sinister...and also why advanced polls wont mean anything in the general...on the left they are much more accepting of a minority or woman candidate so a poll that says barry leads in wisconsin right now can be mostly believed...but in the presidential election is barry is running youll find lots of differences btwn polling and actual results

i'm definitely not a hillary hater.  the differences between her and obama are relatively small, and i'm really not sure how some people can love one but detest the other.  i voted for obama, and i hope he wins, but if it ends up being hillary she's still far and away a better choice than any republicans.

I vehemently disagree with universal health care

i prefer barrys plan but how could you be "vehemently" against health care for all...other than ron pauls militia members that doesnt seem like something that could upset anyone that much

I vehemently disagree with forcing people to do something.

As do I. There needs to be a happy medium. I won't conform to getting healthcare because I have no need to. I have a Chiropractor and family practioner in the family and can use the VA hospital for whatever else I need.

mostly id agree....but i think when youre talking about peoples health its a little different

hillarys plan has all kinds of exceptions for people like you...for example if you are lucky enough to have a job that pays for your health care obviously you wouldnt have to pay more money under her plan...no one is going to have double coverage

I tend to side with the universal health care thing simply because there are so many poor people in this country who need medical insurance and cannot have it. And alot of times you see kids who dont have it; why should a child suffer with illnesses and the like because healthcare is too expensive? And why should rich people be afforded a better chance to live versus the regular working schmucks or people who cannot work and kids?

phattymatty

on another somewhat related note, every vote that that whackjob huckabee gets is one more republican not voting for mccain, meaning theres a chance some of them might not vote at all in the general election or at least take a look at the other side.

both plans cover children regardless phreak...but you make a fair point in that youre still going to have poor adults who cant afford it even under barrys "affordable" health care for all plan...thats where i think universal is better but i also think that adults have to make their own decisions....its really a hard issue not to be on the fence about...especially without seeing how affordable its really gonna be under the non universal plan

Health insurance is a staggering cost for people like me who are self-employed.  It costs more per month for me to insure myself and my child than it does for me to pay for her schooling.

Plus the insurance coverage we have is total garbage.  There are so many exceptions and "outs" for the insurance company that the sad fact is if either of us ever gets chronically ill, our family will basically be bankrupt.

I make a good living and have been employed in the same profession for over 20 years but it still doesn't matter.  I pay my taxes and I still get farged over no matter if it's universal health care or what we have now.

Rich people or people who work at companies that provide extensive fringe benefits are fine but the lionshare of people in this country are just like me.  Ironically, I pay for poor people out of the ridiculous amount of taxes I pay each year yet I make too much to actually partake in the system I support.

That shtein has to change, period.

if he wins mccain might die in his four year term

so really im not to concerned with what he says will happen 100 years from now

You missed the point....again.  The one thing I really don't like about McCain is that he's going to keep the Dubbya War Machine at full speed.  Why we're at war now is beyond me.  Is Iraq going to attack us if we leave?  I'm all about going to war if our country or our Consitution are threatened.  There is no threat to our country as a whole right now.  Never really has been.
