Indies are going to line up behind McCain.

Um, if that were true, they wouldn't be Indies - they'd be Republicans.

Indies are going to line up behind McCain.  Obama's only hope is to get the youth vote out and sway hispanics to his side.

Neither of those two things are going to happen, though.

not sure why you think indies are going to line up behind mccain.  lots of people are indies because they are against the exact thing that mccain is doing right now, which is to switch sides on every issue to appease the party.

I'm an independent because I think both major parties are full of shtein.  They're opposite sides of the same rusted, shtein-coated coin and nothing will ever change for the better in this country while they're in charge.

cool primary map...

http://news.yahoo.com/election/2008/dashboard/?d=ST

I find it amusing that they have the balls to put up the "Yahoo Buzz" numbers for states that haven't had primaries yet like it is some sort of legitimate poll.  Obama is strong in those numbers, but then again they've got Paul in with 1/3 of the vote in most states.

Assuming the general election may swing on the "Young and Stupid" vote, it might make sense for McCain to have Ron Paul as a running mate.  That corps of cultish yahoos sure knows how to raise money and drum up free internet publicity...

Frankly, I don't mind McCain. The more I read about his voting record the more tolerable he becomes. I don't agree with his socially conservative views on abortion, but if this were any other election year I'd happily vote for him. The problem is that I'm not voting this year based on voting record or one issue or another I'm voting because this country needs an enema. It needs a drastically different direction because right now we are headed towards the abyss. I see the potential for greatness in Obama and this country needs someone great to pull it out of this godawful situation it's put itself in. I don't see that potential in Hillary and I don't see it in McCain.

I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution. But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."

If this isn't the most terrifying quote ever uttered by an elected official I don't know what is.

Robert DeNiro says Obama Doesn't have experience...
QuoteFor one thing: "He wasn't experienced enough to authorize the invasion of Iraq."

"And that's not all," he went on. "It's clear Barack Obama does not have the experience to let the special interests run the government."

The crowd (which takes up 5/28ths of just the lower tier of seating in the 30,000 seat arena, so you know, a big crowd, but not a big, big crowd) is jazzed. This rhetorical device goes on for a bit. "That's the kind of inexperience I can get used to," said DeNiro.

Nice interactive graph of poll data.

Even in states where Hillary still has the lead, her poll numbers are leveling off or declining, while Obama is just up up up...
