I mean, I'm on edge about it too. I''m not usually alarmist about stuff like that but yeah I think the chance for violence and/or the end of American democracy is a possibility in 2024. To the point where I'll be making sure I'm armed.

But I don't think "individual citizens who aren't connected to any public policy being passed by the Democratic Party should stop caring about/talking about structural racism or when white people are being racist/racially insensitive/platforming racists" is anywhere close to a coherent or smart reaction to that feeling of being on edge. Any left winger/Dem voter giving right wing buzzword framing of the situation like "woke" or "cancel culture" or etc. is doing the entire country a huge disservice by amplifying the exact dumb shtein that the right wing wants you to amplify. "Hey look over here, someone else is getting CANCELLED again...what's that? our health care policy? oh, don't worry about that. Did you see what wokeism did today?!".

I DO think there is a good chance this spring/ealy summer is like last year where Covid cases take a nose dive. Kinda depends on what variants pop up/what they do, like if this Omicron substrain that seems to be even more contagious than the OG omicron while also reinfecting people not even a month after their first infection was done...that could be a problem. But if numbers crash down as people go outside, it should help out/get people less stressed out, and solve some of the supply chain issues causing inflation as well. Fingers crossed.

Problem is...September comes around, people pile inside again, and you have two months of that before the election lol

The flipside of that is, if numbers DO crash down, it could allow us to get a stockpile of Covid meds (like Paxlovid) that means anyone who gets covid can get them, not just the at risk, AND we'll maybe have some 2nd generation vaccines getting approved by next fall that could prove to be as good as the OG vaccines were on the OG strains.
