It looks like the only video from the aftermath of the strikes on the airbase are coming from Russian sources, so it is hard to say if the strike was successful or not in terms of poc-marking the air strip. But based on what rusty said, the airstrip is still functional.

I think the air strike was appropriate.  Has nothing to do with trump in terms of my opinion.  Would've had the same opinion regardless of who was in office.

Yes, I'm not a neocon in foreign policy but I'm not a sanders/Ron Paul isolationist either.   I would have been arming Syrian rebels earlier.  HRC would've had the same response.

Also, your statement doesn't make sense as a logical extension of itself.  If it's meaningless and everyone realizes it is then it isn't going to lead to "war" or escalation.

Put 60 missiles into his palaces.  Sure, you'll kill some women and children, and Russians, but the message would be a lot clearer than making a few potholes on a runway after telling the Russians you were gonna do it. 

I don't see any message here beyond Trump playing tough.  Nothing actually tough about what he did, of course.  And it won't help matter at all.
