I'm against abortion. If a women wants to kill her baby then that's her choice. If a man doesn't have a right to chose if his child is going to be killed than why make him pay child support when baby's momma decides to keep the baby.
the man has to pay for the child because he made it and the child deserves the best possible chance at a good life....

The man made the baby, he's going to be financially responsible for the child, yet he doesn't get a say in if the baby lives or dies? Makes sense. This has nothing to do with hating women. It takes two people to make a baby, why should one get to chose if the child lives or dies?

really it takes a guy to make a baby...no seed no deed.....only one person however can go thru the physical and emotional journey of carrying a baby in their body...and guess what?...that person gets to choose if they want their body to go thru that ordeal....again if you want a baby that bad then adopt one but your religious or moral beliefs (much less your monetary issues) do not get to dictate what another person gets to do with their own person...whether its a pregnancy or telling someone who has two good eyes to give up one so a blind person can have one good one

also the man is not financially respsonsible...they both are...if you are that worried about money then dont drop your load in a place that might make a baby that you will have to put money towards

The pro life argument is religious.   I'm not religious so I'm not pro life, but I get people who are and who believe life begins at conception.  I don't agree with that belief but it's understandable why people do because at that point it's killing.

That being said, I don't understand why many of those same people support policies to cut funding and programs for that same kid right after birth.  Seems like an odd disconnect.

j aren't you the maniac who is against abortion because you think the guy should have a say

I am not totally against it and I respect the views of the others in the debate. However like what SD is saying is how I feel for the most part. I get that the woman has to carry the child for 9mo and go through the physical and mental issues of that. But that child is also mine so I would like to have some sort of say in it.

I don't consider that some maniacal view.

i also totally understand the religious aspect of it....but guess what your religion does not get to tell other people what they can and cant do in their own lives much less with their own bodies

the problem is far to many religious people are unable to understand this concept where as me and you who are not religious can understand why they are pro life

sounds like your problem is with child support laws not abortion....i have major problems with those as well....but thats a completely different  thing as forcing a women to have a baby...and the child support shtein i have a problem with has more to do with planned and/or agreed upon pregnancies...if you dont want to have a kid and then do and get upset that you have to pay money towards it then i dont have much sympathy for you

I am not even saying force - that isn't right. I think there should be discussion before the pregnancy is terminated is all. Like if the woman doesn't want the child and the man says he's willing to be the sole parent then it should be brought up.

Like I said I am more often than not in agreement with the woman making the choice. But in the instances where the father wants to raise his kid why shouldn't it be something that is discussed.

ice grillin you

altho i dont beleive the women has an obligation to tell a guy shes pregnant at all much less discuss whether she should have it or not thats still way different that what you told me before which was you were anti abortion because you thought the guy should be allowed to stop the girl from having an abortion....so yes i agree with you in a perfect world every pregnancy would start with a civil discourse between potential mother and father...but thats not how real life works

also once you believe that a guy should be able to force a women to have a baby why shouldnt they also have a right to force a women to have an abortion?...where does the control of another stop

Eagaholic

Ideally, it should be a 50/50 decision but the woman gets the tie breaker because she carries the child. Although the pregnancy time is important, if you step back and look at the bigger picture it is only 9 months out of a potential 70 year relationship.

SD

Because if the woman is having the baby and the man is saying I don't want it she can control that action. If a man says I want the baby and the woman says no I'm aborting the guy has to go along with the plan. It takes two to make a baby, it should take two to decide if the baby lives or not.

if a women is forced to have a baby she doesnt want she has to live with that in all kinds of ways until the day she dies....it all doesnt just go away the minute a child comes out

its not a baby its an embryo or fetus and again if you want a kid that bad adopt one...women arent on earth to birth children for men
