I have never been proud to be an American.  I've felt grateful for my ridiculously unwarranted luck in being born here.  I didn't do anything to become American, that's how the dice rolled and I got lucky.

I can understand people who become citizens being proud to be American.  They worked for it

And in my whole adult life I have never once been particularly proud of America. Nothing this country has done in 34 years ever once made me proud of Americans.

Until today.  Today I am proud of Americans.  What a day.

I can pretty much agree with you, but I have been proud before. McCain did look relieved and was gracious in his exit speech. Was like someone cut the strings free. AND THANK fargIN GOD PALIN will go away.

Congrats RJS

Now if we could just pass a law banning Bostonians from Earth we'd really be accomplishing something special.

Glad to see Obama won the popular vote as well as the EC.

He was nice enough to take time out before his victory speech to write me this:
QuoteMichael --

I'm about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.

We just made history.

And I don't want you to forget how we did it.

You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change.

I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.

We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next.

But I want to be very clear about one thing...

All of this happened because of you.

Thank you,

Barack

This really is an amazingly positive win. America once again really is the land of opportunity. Anything can happen to anyone. Our standing in the world is a lot higher then it once was. Amazing. Made my kids watch the victory speech this morning.

Conservatives around me think the GOP lost because they weren't conservative enough and McCain was too moderate. So in 4 years the next GOP candidate will most likely about Gawd vs the infidels.

Al Franken and Ron Coleman are going to have to go to a recount in Minnesota

Philly went 75% for Barry

This country seems to be okay with black people but they don't really like the gays...
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
