blacks werent going for obama in the 90%tile until bill and co started playing the race card

that being said it should be expected that blacks would better identify with a black candidate...just as old white people identify with mccain...the difference is had hillary won she would have had the overwhelming support of the black vote...in other words you wouldnt have had huge blocks of people voting against her because she was white like you do now with middle american type whites against barry

I agree - we only differ on the definition of racist.

Also, while Hillary might have won the demographic, Obama will bring the voters out in droves.  There are going to be some surprises in some states where he beats the polls by 5+ pts.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Obama is going to have the best margin of victory since Bush-Dukakis.

What strikes me is how similar the "left" and the "right" is when it comes to doom and gloom.  The world won't end when Obama wins tomorrow, socialism won't come, and you won't be forced to read the Koran or enter a gay marriage.

If McCain somehow wins tomorrow you won't be forced into skipping that abortion, gays won't be thrown in prison, you won't be forced to read the bible, minorities will still be able to vote, and people will not be able to carry machine guns around.

Personally, I am looking forward to my phone being silent for awhile and all the signs littering my Township being picked up.

Actually, I find the black half of Obama to be quite refreshing, cool, and inspirational.  I find the white half of Obama to be the same old politician that everyone is, and he will do enough to be called successful, and not enough of the far left movement to be detested.

The black half overshadows the white half.  Oh, and he will be in charge for eight years, assuming he runs again in 12.

The 1/4 Dutch in me finds that funny as hell. The Scottish 1/4 just wants to punch someone in the face for no real reason. The rest of whatever I am is just confused.

The conotations of an Obama loss are what worry me.

About 28% of the population identifies itself as Republican while about 33% identifies itself as Democrat. Leaving 39% to decide every presidential election.

In a year where everyone in this country (and everyone in every other country) hates the sitting president, in a year where we're waging a historically unpopular war against foes that we have created, and in a year where democrats are winning elections left and right, the candidate from the opposition party should steamroll a 72 year old who has drifted further and further to the side of the least popular president of our lifetime.

Tell me what explanation there is for an Obama loss? There's only one. And it sucks because racism shouldn't even be a topic worth our time these days. The last thing I want is for racism to be proven as a deciding factor, opening up a whole new round of bullshtein conversation about something that shouldn't even be discussed. Race is a boring topic, I don't want to be forced to talk about it because Obama lost what should have been a gimme election.

who the hell would want to compromise with the right wing on anything outside of budget issues...their stance on just about every single important issue is so ass backwards that to compromise with them would be to associate with the devil

if barry wins i hope he tells all the right wing loonies to go farg themselves

Funny when the republicans had control, Pelosi and crazy dude Dean wanted to work together with them, not so much anymore I guess.

This was kind of a waste of effort, since he's clearly going to win easily.

Who farging cares. Offshore drilling is a stopgap measure at best. Drill, don't drill, by the time they actually tap into anything it may not even be an effective stopgap.

No.

Don't forget the well in the Gulf of Mexico that is already drilled, waiting to be tapped. When discovered two years ago, it was labeled an achievement that could be the biggest breakthrough in domestic oil supplies since the opening of the Alaskan pipeline. And there is much more there, according to Chevron. Chevron said that it now believes the lower tertiary region of the Gulf could hold reserves of up to 15 billion barrels of oil.

Has anyone seen the Mohammed Atta commercial yet?  They're unabashedly linking Obama & Atta now, but of course, McCain is not responsible for the content of that commercial.

Right.

MadMarchHare

Me, I'm just waiting for the hard, cutting questions Chris Berman has in store for Obama and McCain at half-time.

Anyone but Reid.
