Don't pretend that you don't love me, Rome.

True but I also love puns as well, so. . .

Well, when Obama goes negative, he really goes negative.  Not only from the campaign, but apparently the 527s took his call to action to heart:

From the Obama Campaign:
Quote"John McCain's chief adviser lobbies for oil companies, even from Russia and China. His campaign manager lobbies for corporations outsourcing American jobs. The campaign chairman he picked last year -- a bank lobbyist. If seven of McCain's top advisers are lobbyists, who do you think will run his White House? John McCain. We just can't afford more of the same."
Quote"1982," reads the campaign. "John McCain goes to Washington. Things have changed in the last 26 years. But McCain hasn't. He admits he still doesn't know how to use a computer, can't send an email."

From Planned Parenthood:
Quote"Every eight minutes a child is sexually abused," the narrator says. "That's why Barack Obama supported legislation to teach children how to protect themselves. Now John McCain is twisting the facts and attacking Senator Obama. Doesn't McCain want our children to protect ourselves from sex offenders? Or after 26 years in Washington, is he just another politician who will say anything to get elected

QuoteThe Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund has put out an ad on Sarah Palin's promotion of (and personal fondness for) aerial wolf hunting, describing the practice "brutal." The ad features disturbing, graphic footage of a wolf's death. "Do we really want a vice president who champions such savagery?" it concludes.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

That child's parents should think about moving.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

In all fairness to Palin, I would love to smash some meat from a helicopter.

I asked why McCain didn't select Romney or Giuliani as his VP.  If I had watched the FOX Republican debate, I would have known that he doesn't think Mayors and Governors have the experience to handle national security.

If McCain can trot out Hillary quotes from the primaries, I'm thinking McCain's quotes from the primaries should be fair game.

VIGY, I hereby declare you an honorary Canuck.  Here's a similar map that I think you might appreciate...

Those would be the slave & free states before the Civil War.

Remember when IGY told me I was a lunatic for touting a little revolutionary spirit? Well I do. And now he's essentially saying the same thing. I was approaching it from a gun-rights and individual liberties point of view. He's approaching it from an "I don't like simple conservative people" point of view.

So different, and yet so the same.

I got the same crap when I was talking about Ron Paul's states rights approach.

In other news, a couple great quotes came out today:

McCain: "It's easy for me to go to Washington," said the Senator, "and frankly, be somewhat divorced from the day-to-day challenges people have."

Obama: "In running the sleaziest campaign since South Carolina in 2000 and standing by completely debunked lies on national television, it's clear that John McCain would rather lose his integrity than lose an election."

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

So why is it 'Middle America' and not the south? "Middle America" as a region is pretty diverse from Denver to Chicago to Las Vegas. I thought the republican advantage started in the south and went from there. The south has the bible belt as well. So I guess your saying the North East should just declare independance. But then what do you do with the rest of Pennsaltucky or even South Jersey for that matter. Western Connecticut? Please. Plus have you ever seen the hicks that live up in Mass? Big trucks, work boots and flannel abound. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

she really is prehistorically backwards on the abortion issue...she doesnt even want abortion returned to the states....she wants it banned forever and absolute

The thing everyone is ignoring on here is the fact that middle American "soccer moms" are actually overwhelmingly pro-life.
The assumption that most women are pro-choice is a huge media created mistake.
