- Trickle-down economics does not work.
- With a massive deficit, there must be more tax revenue.

You can argue exactly who gets taxed and how, but the bottom line is that these two facts are indisputably true.

i dont look at any one issue when looking at the economy its just stupid because so many factors go into it

what i do know is that when a republican is in the white house the rich get richer and the poor get poorer...the less fortunate suffer more than ever and wall street has a party....ronald reagan being the all time worst example of this

that's funny because it's not true nor has it actually gone that way for the last 20 years.

wall street = metaphor for rich people not the street in lower manhattan

Except for when everyone else refers to wall street as wall street especially when referencing the state of economy.

saw on another board that the National Enquirer is back at it, saying that Palin had an affair with her husbands former business partner.  McCains camp threatend a law suit National Enquirer responded
Quote"The National Enquirer's coverage of a vicious war within Sarah Palin's extended family includes several newsworthy revelations, including the resulting incredible charge of an affair plus details of family strife when the Governor's daughter revealed her pregnancy. Following our John Edwards' exclusives, our political reporting has obviously proven to be more detail-oriented than the McCain campaign's vetting process. Despite the McCain camp's attempts to control press coverage they find unfavorable, The Enquirer will continue to pursue news on both sides of the political spectrum."

This came out today

Todd Palin's former business partner files an emergency motion to have his divorce papers sealed.

And its being reported that the motion was denied..lolz

Trickle-down economics has a way of not working when giving the wealthy and big business ridiculous tax loopholes and credits, but it definitely works to screw the common man when the wealthy and big business get handed an increased tax burden.  Go figure.

There must not be more tax revenue to decrease a deficit.  That is patently false.  Other factors include more efficient collection of existing tax burden and reduction in government programs.  The actual reality is that this country absolutely cannot tax itself out of the deficit.  Tough choices need to be made on entitlement programs, unneeded bureaucracy, and defense.

QuoteObama fans seem to ignore the fact that lower income and middle class Americans will absolutely see an increased tax burden, due to his economic plan outside of income taxes themselves.

First I've heard of this. Care to explain?

Either this is a weak attempt at facetiousness, or you are a slightly bigger idiot than I'd already thought.  If it's the former, I am not playing your game.  If it's the latter, the capability to comprehend how the economy works is significantly outside of your grasp.  It would be well above my pay grade to explain it to someone like you.

rjs246

The insinuation is that that money has to come from somewhere. So if income tax is lowered across the board, someone, somewhere is paying for the programs that the government (in this case, a BIG SPENDING DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT) runs. Increasing taxes for the highest 5% of the rich isn't enough to cover all of the lost revenue from taxes.

It doesn't matter. Neither of these clowns has any hope of balancing the budget thanks to the last 8 years of unprecedented spending. So all that matters is who you prefer to spend the tax money and what you want them to spend it on.

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.
