Absolutely. I would never have guessed that a President would stoop to this level of evil scumbaggary douchery, though. Does this mean that future Presidents or candidates should, or need, do the same?

The greatest coup the Republican party ever pulled off was convincing the world that being a Democrat was somehow unmanly. I don't agree with either side on a lot of issues, but it is truly remarkable how Republican men tend to wear their title like a badge of honor while Democratic men shrink from theirs as though liberal thought is the realm of women and puppies.

Mainstream = will vote based on:
a) a single issue
b) a campaign slogan
or
c) a single 60 second spot
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

I know a lot of right wingers like to talk about 'mainstream America' like it's some kind of club that only they have a pass too but when the other view point puts up even a half way electable person with a pulse we get a highly contested election that has to be decided by the US Supreme court. You shouldn't alienate the other half of the country and attempt to marginalize their view point by claiming they're in some kind of minority. Heck that other view point controls the house and senate right now and if Obama wasn't perceived as a Muslim radical by scared white folks they'd have the white house uncontested.

Wow i thought when the dems swept last time around I heard a lot of mainstream america is in tune with them, and mainstream america has spoken. Maybe it's ok to use when the dem's have the majority then.

So you said it in this thread because you heard the other side say it and that makes it OK. Carry on then.

I don't affiliate with either party for this reason.

Oh for the love of all that is good. There are plenty of black people voting for him just because he's black, no other reason, so give that ish up already. Thats a weak fall back if america does not elect this guy.

I'm not an Obama supporter. I just call them like I see them amongst the folks I know.

I said it because imo one of the reasons Obama is not winning is because mainstream (majority may be a better word) are not buying his pitch. The Dems swept in the last election because the Repub's were doing a horrific job running the show, the mainstream/majority of the country spanked them for it. Bush is doing a horrible job, but not everyone thinks McCain is his twin, or will do the same thing.

That's because in 2000, McCain established himself as a moderate.  Problem is that he has completely reversed course and is voting 90% for Bush's agenda...and the media is completely ignoring this fact.

If he picks Romney it's the same thing isn't it? Romney was a moderate while Gov of Ma. but came more right to go national. I don't trust that guy for some reason. Really hope McCain goes in another direction there.

Bill would rather talk about himself...

QuoteThe former president is disappointed, associates said, because he is eager to speak about the economy and more broadly about Democratic ideas — emphasizing the contrast between the Bush years and his own record in the 1990s. This is an especially sore point for Bill Clinton, people close to him say, because among many grievances he has about the campaign Obama waged against his wife is a belief that the candidate poor-mouthed the political and policy successes of his two terms.

That and the Clinton campaign still feels they are relevant...

Holy ish this was one of the funniest quotes on this thread. They don't vote for the racist party :-D I guess they should continue to settle for the party that has done little for them except keep the majority of the black areas of the inner cities in horrible condition, doing nothing but holding out the cash in front of people and keeping them locked into the same life from generation to generation, with little hope to get out. And yet  "the man" is blamed for holding them down, and somehow (and very smartly) the dems have them focus on the repubs for the blame, while they get away lily white clean from it, cause they understand what they are going thru. Yeah Nancy, Al, John K. and Obama know what it's like to be down with the people. Laughable to the end.
