They're all blaming Biden for this too.  Amazing.

I just honestly don't understand how we have been helping, training, and whatever for 20 years and their national military can't hang on for a week?

As I understand it, their training has been to rely on US airstrikes and they haven't been training for sustained sieges against the equipment we sent there.

Rome

Here's the best part... the entire leadership tweets out a live shot of them sitting in the presidential palace yesterday and no one in "US Intelligence" thinks, "hey, I got an idea... why don't we send a farging cruise missile in and level the place right now?"

General_Failure

Must have been waiting for the Afghani military to call it in.

They don't want our help, training, and whatever.  Never did.  Some of them took our money while others rode the years out but everyone was just waiting for the West to lose interest and leave, and are now back to where they've always been.  20 years of U.S. intervention is nothing in the history of these people.

That's the sad part.  American hubris is a helluva drug.

Republicans finally realized that they've had the same goals as the taliban all along.

i am enjoying all the takes from people who cant find afghanistan on a map and havent thought about it in 18 years
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

The wretched whitewashing by GQP'ers is exceeded only by the utterly ridiculous virtue signaling going on in the media right now.  They couldn't give two shteins about Afghanistan last week but now all of a sudden it's like the worst thing to have ever happened.

It'll be forgotten again in a week.
