I mean, the whole super delegate bullshtein is in place specifically to keep guys like Sanders from winning.

Exactly.  The system is rigged.  It's their party and they get to decide who is their representative.  There's nothing democratic about any of it.  Sure, we vote in primaries and whatnot, but when it comes down to it, the people are irrelevant.

went down to the convention areas this weekend to check them out

-convention center has something called "political fest." evidently it costs money, but the lady only asked if i had already been scanned in. i said yes. that was that. being white is great. anyway, they had a replica of af1 (line was too long for me to wait), some pretty cool old political memorabilia and a replica of ronald satan's oval office. i asked the volunteer if he knew the spot where satan ignored the aids epidemic. i thought that was a good line. other than that there was a bunch of crap.

-the area around the stadiums is a disgrace. everything is blocked off. you can get down pattison ave without the right credentials. theres barriers and walls and blockades everywhere. the good thing is its inconveniencing only the people going to the dnc and the small amount of people who live right there. much better than the pope jawn which farged over tens of thousands.

-the bernie freaks had a silly rally down broad street today and it ended at fdr park, which is where i caught them. there was nothing negative about trump. there were too many to count negative signs about hillary. i dont know how i didnt punch them all. on the way out i heckled someone from info wars (lunatic conspiracy theorist alex jones' site) and exchanged pleasentries with a bernie "delegate" from new mexico who claimed that he was going to win the nomination. the democratic one. like in 2 days. yes.

all in all the world sucks
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

DWS is a hack.  Good riddance.

President Obama doesn't think so.

Quote"For the last eight years, Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has had my back," Obama said in a written statement. "This afternoon, I called her to let her know that I am grateful. ... And no one works harder for her constituents in Congress than Debbie Wasserman Schultz."

That's fine.  Not a fan and he'd say that regardless.

Dems already rig the system with super delegates - which is fine - shows they're smarter than republicans who let a clown like trump take over their party.

It's still very obviously a bad look to have the DNC head who maintains the system is impartial very clearly acting the way she did.  Everyone assumed it was going on anyway but then you can't get caught doing it if you don't want the axe to fall.

you have zero clue how this all works...its 100% democratic...voters pick the candidate...in that sense Hillary won fair and square and it wasn't close

that being said it is not the job of the dnc to pick sides amongst their candidates...that was/is disgraceful

until a candidate is nominated that didn't win the primary in terms of votes cast its not rigged

It's a built in safety valve in case the party has a strong preference in the nominee and/or the other option is untenable.   It's not "rigged" but it's a built in mechanism to let the party decide in a close race.

ice grillin you

unless that strong preference invalidates actual election results then I disagree with the word rigged...but by no means am I saying its a perfect system

Bernie's argument with that (or his supporters argument) was always wrong.  HRC won with voters etc and was nominated fairly.   Super delegates haven't come into play - I just view it as a clever safety mechanism.

Still wish Biden was the nominee.

Diomedes

It is a clever safety mechanism.  People need to grow the farg up.  If the system is rigged, then it's rigged well because it resists reflexive, knee-jerk, fad insurgencies to which humans--all humans--are prone in favor of the longer, steadier arch defined by the grown ups, if you will who lead the party.

The super delegate system is supposed to invalidate wholly objectionable populist choices like Trump.  The Republican problem is their second choice was Cruz, who is only slightly less objectionable (to them) than Trump.  And frankly, I think Cruz would have been worse because he is a truly evil human being.

British teachers caught up in Turkey crackdown as Erdogan bans academics from leaving country and orders those overseas to return

Quote"It's summer break and we've all been summoned back to work as all annual leave has been cancelled," said the teacher, who did not wish to give her name.

The lecturer, who is currently abroad, said both local and international staff received a letter from the university saying they must report for work at 8.30am tomorrow or face losing their jobs.
