Wilmington's Memorial Day parade (a small affair) ends right outside of my apartment at the Soldiers and Sailors monument. It was a cool little thing, I got to thank some Korean War vets for their service, and met my congressman/future governor.

Today whatever nice feelings I had from that were destroyed by Trump's god awful press conference today. Jesus christ.

you've only been following politics for a short time...so maybe to literally see a reality tv show host become a prez nominee is not surprising for you...his racism or anger is not even the surprising part...theres been candidates like that before....its his utter incompetence and qualifications for the position...his resume and policy positions are a complete and utter joke...8 years ago howard dean had to rop out of the race because he screamed with excitement at a rally....mitt Romney became unelectable because of a 47% comment and would have had to drop out were he still in the primary...so to see trump lie five different times in one day on numerous different days get nominated is beyond comprehension....most of the republican party cant even fathom what is happening

i think youre underestimating just how stupid this country, and specifically the republican party is.

remember theyve trained their followers to not pay attention to the "media" for decades. so anything negative about trump isnt actually negative because their followers dont see it. these are the same people that rejected all the math in the world that said romney was going to lose.

they live in a different universe with different facts and different rules. trump lying or making things up or being a gross unqualified buffoon has no bearing on their reality. all they see is a guy saying everything theyve been seeing on the fringes of the internet and talk radio for years, and they love it.
