I'm not whining.   But I understand your lashing out, though.  You hate it when people disagree with you especially when the facts don't support your position.  No one can look at the situation we find ourselves in in terms of ecological degradation, over-population, wholesale slaughter of civilians, unrestrained wealth inequality, etc. and not be cynical about the future of the planet.   You have every right to be all zippity do-dah about it, but you and I know it's bullshtein. 

The example I gave about this country accepting Donald Trump as a viable political choice is perfect because in every empire a time comes when absurdity leads to inevitable downfall and this is it, man.

All that said, what I posted stands... live it up, bitches, because this little Utopian bubble we've lived in for a few decades since WWII ended is about to come to a screeching halt.  And because of our own arrogance and myopia we have no one but our spoiled selves to blame.

This is it in a nutshell. I remember as a kid hearing old people talk about how awful "kids these days" were and how the world sucks a life was better 40 years ago, blah blah blah.  The world sucks, but it's in a far better place today than it was 10, 20, 50, 100 years ago.  Problem is that we're probably going to destroy the planet before we get a really good grip on this whole humanity thing.

I've said over and over and over and over that we are destroying the planet. This is not mutually exclusive from the factually correct statement that human life has never been as safe, healthy, equitable, science driven or prosperous as it is right now.
