Maybe Brown (and his pal) attacked the cop?  Maybe they struggled for the gun?  Maybe the cop was fully justified?

Can anyone consider the possibility without being called a racist?

If anything, cases like this one instruct the sane folks amongst us to chill the farg out and wait for some facts before getting too hot over anything.

Not around these parts.  Or Facebook.  Or the internet.

Through all of the various witness accounts and new evidence being presented, the 1 thing that remains constant is that Mike Brown was unarmed and shot multiple times while he was approx 20-25 feet away from the cop.  This is where I have a hard time accepting it as justifiable use of deadly force.

If Brown and the cop are in a physical struggle and the cop shoots him dead, fine.  But I just don't see how a wounded, unarmed person who is 20+ feet away poses an immediate threat to your life.

And until some new evidence is presented that convinces me that Darren Wilson's life was in danger when he fired at least 4 more shots, then I'm sticking to my guns (pun intended) that he used excessive force.  But, because I'm a sane person, I will wait until an investigation is concluded before calling for his head.

What Sarge said. Regardless of whether or not Brown reached into the cop car, he was shot dead at a later time period, after running away, and shot multiple times. And most witnesses of the event say his hands were in the air when those shots were fired. Can't convince me that what the cop did was right.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Either way, their handling of the entire situation for the last two months now has been pretty awful. And by pretty awful I mean farging awful. Their first response to people wanting to know what happened was to bust out military equipment, start firing tear gas into crowds, arresting people at random, limiting how, when, and where people could protest, and preventing the media from covering it properly.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Rome

Cops reacted like they always react.  Their first instinct is to close ranks.  Their second is to blame the victim.  Their third is to smash motherfargers heads in if they resist.  It's what they do.  And we allow it.  We allow them to purchase military-grade weapons and countermeasures.  We allow them to seize our property without cause.  We allow them to trample our rights.  We allow them to bust into our homes without probable cause, monitor our activities and harass anyone who dares oppose their fascist tactics.  When we do object we're called liberal Hoydas or worse.  We're told that if we were innocent, we'd have nothing to worry about.  This is what we do and we deserve every bit of abuse we receive because we allowed these neanderthals to become judge, jury and executioner in our communities.   Shame on them?  Hell no.  Shame on us.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
