(Stolen from Matt...)

Just in case anyone was worried that massive corporations and the uber-wealthy didn't have enough political power, the Supreme Court just ensured that they will be buying elections for the foreseeable future.

given half a chance these conservative scumbags would give corporations the right to vote

It's a stunning assault on democracy.  Basically the Fortune 500 companies can control all three branches of government by spending whatever it takes to install whatever puppets they want in those offices.

In other news, American Idol is back on!

The problem, of course, is that their ruling probably follows the letter of the law if not the spirit of the law. Anyone want to sponsor the rjs246 campaign for congress? I'll run as an independent and bring the whole farging thing down from the inside.

The silver lining is lobbyists probably won't have to work as hard

Just in case anyone is still interested in reading up on nonpartisan political coverage in the form of collected articles from various sources around the country, Real Clear Politics is a great resource. I had been using politicshome.com but their US site is offline and will be for the foreseeable future.

And remember, a vote for RJS is a vote for the second amendment, the first amendment, the fifth amendment, NOT the eighteenth amendment, decriminalization of most recreational drugs and a strict zombie segregation and annihilation regime. The future is mine!

So, Gitmo is still open.  Today was the deadline to close it.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

The joy taken by your kind in that fact is pretty shameful.  It ought to be closed, and though he didn't make his self imposed deadline, at least we've got a President who understands what a pox it is on our nation, and we'll all be better off once he's finally closed it.  Even those among us who root for Obama to fail and Gitmo to keep on torturing.

so the hope for haiti now telethon is a bit of a bummer.  it would be nice if they played some music that didn't prompt thoughts of suicide.

Well, it makes us all feel better if we self flagellate a while. And besides the money, it's good that we can all feel better.

Shameful like it was every time GB or anyone else on the right made a promise that wasn't fulfilled, and then we all stood around and masturbated to the lies?  That kind of shameful?

B-.  Solid B-.

BTW - I find no joy in the leader of my great country failing and lying.  Unlike my friendly, more sophisticated friends on the left side of the meter during the past four years.

Failing to wrap up Gitmo by a self imposed deadline is hardly a lie.

BTW, I don't believe you.

This, exactly. Saying that we're going to war for reasons that were fabricated = lie....not completing a task at self imposed deadline does not = lie.
