Yea, I don't understand why Obama hasn't been able to turn around the worst recession we've had since the great depression in less than his first year. Wasn't that what Obama was saying when he signed the bill into law, that it would take a few days to turn things around and that unemployment was going to get better before it got worse?

I don't know whether to laugh or cry that Cuba has a much higher literacy rate and given the resources they are working with, better healthcare system.   The second poorest country in the Northern hemisphere is out producing the United States, supposedly the best country in the world in two pretty basic areas.

The best health care system is not synonymous with the highest level of specialization. You sound like a Republican mouthpiece when you desperately try to defend what is universally considered to be a broker system.

There are major issues with our system, I know this. But to say their system is better? the whole thing? how much research, and testing do they accomplish. Part of having a good system is looking at your doctors and facilities, I would think that alone would shoot us so far ahead it isn't funny. And anyone can get medical care, all might not be covered with insurance, which needs to be changed, BUT anyone can walk into one of the U.S. facilities and see a doctor, both would be better then any facilty and doctor in Cuba.

The rich have lots of money so they don't have to flee anywhere, they're perfectly fine overpaying for quality service in the US. There is an increasing number of people going overseas for some treatments, though. Typically to Southeast Asia.

Of course there are many health care aspects which Cuba is behind the U.S. This doesn't mean it's necessarily inferior or that we don't need to make some major changes.
