Early Tuesday, Democratic Party chairwoman Pat Waak said the damage to her building in Denver's art district was a consequence of "an effort on the other side to stir up hate." She tempered her statement after Schwenkler's political history was revealed.

"What I've been saying is there is a lot of rhetoric out there from both sides of the spectrum," Waak said. "That's what's been disturbing to me. People are saying a lot of things not appropriate for civil discourse."

The present governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick,  is a Democrat and supporter of President Obama. In a letter to Patrick, Sen. Kennedy asked that the law be changed so that the Governor could make an interim appointment instead of the present law that the Democrats had helped to change.

Incredibly old news and hardly news at all. One of the major issues of his political life is being argued now, of course he was sensitive to how his death would impact the outcome of that issue and did what he could to help it along.
