Poor people should be ground up and used for food for dogs.  Pit bulls even!

Right wing lunacy in the face of progress is not a new theme.

QuoteThe tree of crazy is an ever-present aspect of America's flora. Only now, it's being watered by misguided he-said-she-said reporting and taking over the forest. Latest word is that the enlightened and mild provision in the draft legislation to help elderly people who want living wills -- the one hysterics turned into the "death panel" canard -- is losing favor, according to the Wall Street Journal, because of "complaints over the provision."

Good thing our leaders weren't so cowardly in 1964, or we would never have passed a civil rights bill -- because of complaints over the provisions in it that would enslave whites.

I grew up with one conservative parent and one liberal (albeit a 'New England' Catholic liberal) parent so I've spent my life being bombarded with the pros and cons of both sides of the political world. It's given me perspective that I am thankful for, but the one thing I can say without hesitation is that conservative paranoia is a very real phenomenon and I don't really understand it. The psychology behind it baffles me.

I grew up in a traditional utlra-conservative Irish Catholic household.  Racism, bigotry and self-loathing were the norm then.  I suspect that most people who grew up in Philly/South Jersey suffered the same sort of upbringing.  It wasn't until I got to college that my eyes began to open and I realized that the conservative philosophy was total bullshtein.

Hell, just look at its proponents to see just how cold and evil it is.  I mean, when the Rush Limbaughs of the world are leading the charge towards conservative "values" then you know how utterly and completely wrong it has to be.

Social conservatism is terrifying but there are plenty of valid non-social opinions held on the 'right' side of the aisle. But you know that already.

No I didn't.  Thank goodness you're here to teach me things.

I'll let you hold my hand the next time we see each other, grasshopper.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

^^ Awesome. That still gives me some hope. I think he's right, too - Once we start to get past the stigma of "government-run" healthcare (and everyone realizes that was all just a bunch of scare-tactic bullshtein) that hill will be much more easy to climb.

Thanks.

Then why doesn't he just come out and say what it is going to be? He is completely bullshteinting when he is up in these "town hall" meetings. There is a bill that has a lot of facts in it that Obama is saying is not true, problem is his own press secretary said he has not read the bill yet. Then he is dogging anyone who calls him on the facts, Pelosi has said she has seen people carrying Nazi symbols, but who cares about what the #3 person in America says, lets report what some fat ass radio jock who compares Obamas symbol to the Nazi symbol in response to her statement, another Congressman Dingell is calling people the kkk if they don't agree with him. It's fargin hilarious what these people will say when they are challenged.

The funny thing is the dems called dissention Patriotic when Bush was in office, now it's either your a Nazi or a KKK member when you don't agree with them. fargin hilarious stuff to watch :-D

Obama cited this as an example of where the private industry can compete. You can't argue that private industry won't be able to compete while at the same time arguing a public plan won't be effective. Sorry, but you can't have it both ways.

Haha, yea. It's like exactly the same and stuff. Why didn't I think of that?

"It's on the news all the time." Wow. A clear window into the effectiveness of propaganda...

Obama has no intentions to have private companies compete, anyone can see that.

Well as long as the dems inform us what is american and unamerican then I guess everything is alright.

Whether he does or doesn't is immaterial.
