I fail to see how it is insignificant. If it was indeed genocide it should be recognized as such. The fact is that it is politically expedient to back off of those statements because he wants a Turkish/Muslim ally.

Like I said, I get why he's done it, and I'm not killing him for it, but to soften his stance to appease Turkey and make nice with a Muslim country is just a politician being a politician.

he didnt soften anything...he said i stand where i have always stood on the issue

and its insignificant because it happend over 80 years ago in another country and has no bearing on....well on anything

What is your point?
WWII was 65 years ago. Does that lessen the importance of the holocaust?
1.4 million people were killed.
What the farg are you talking about?

A) When did anybody claim Obama was not a politician?

B) Who believes Lincoln, FDR, or any other presidents were not polticians?

we arent talking about the genocide itself...we are talking about whether its really important that obama makes turkey admit it was a genocide...that has no bearing on the us economy...the war in iraq...civil rights of our citizens ect....it doesnt mean shtein and i cant believe we are even talking about it

we all know it was a genocide...who gives a farg what they say...none of them were alive anyway...

like america with its shady history of genocide should be telling another country what to come clean on anyway...what a joke

you cant possibly think this is even a little bit important

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

I can and do think it's a little bit important. Just a little bit.

Quote from: rjs246 on June 01, 2009, 03:11:01 PMPlus, Obama more than most politicians has a following of people who think that he can do no wrong and is changing the world with his truthiness.

The dude has already suffered more criticism from the left than Bush got from the right in his entire 8 years.  I understand people recoil from the popularity and adulation he's enjoying, but come off it a bit.

Excessive criticism does not mean excessive blowjobs are required to balance the scales. This just leads what every political discussion leads to. Two people yelling the same things at each other without listening because the other person is making no sense.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Just because Bush got a free pass from the clones while in office doesn't mean that Obama should get one. Look I'm a really big Obama fan. I voted for him and would do it again. I like the fact that he is being an activist and I like the way he approaches problems like an adult. But he isn't infallible and has actually had quite a few missteps already. His cadre of worshippers does nothing but take away from his appeal (which is well earned, obviously). Clearly you see that.

farg the muslim country. They killed a million people, they shouldn't be giving the gas face because other countries want to say "hey you killed a million people".
farg Germany?  farg Russia?  farg America?

Yes.

When people start sending their kids to lefty camps where they pray to Obama, then maybe I'll be feeling what you're saying.  Yes, he's wildly popular.  That bothers you, I get it.  But my point stands:  he has come under far more criticism from his own people already--often well deserved--than Bush ever did in eight years.  Clearly you see that.

Lincoln was a politician. FDR was a politician.

And Obama has done nothing to warrant being mentioned with two of the recognized best presidents in American history.

One thing has nothing to do with the other. You're pissy because Bush was President for 8 years. Me too. That doesn't give Obama a free pass on everything. This isn't a tit for tat game. At least it shouldn't be for the adults in the room.

I never saw that one coming. As if that were my implication.
