So HBO went to every hick town in America and made a documentary about it.  It's on tonight at 10pm for those who are interested.

The girl who made this is Nancy Pelosi's daughter, so as much as I'm sure I'll like watching it, it's about as biased as you can get.

Ok Repubs, we get it.  Obama is going to end the world as we know it.

Still, can someone tell me: in terms of debt, how is cutting taxes any different than spending?

Because when you cut taxes the people who earned the money will buy what they need with the money they earned.  When the government spends the money they confiscated from the citizens the interests of the people often are ignored in favor of the politico's "other interests" :paranoid

ice grillin you

a couple extra bucks in your pocket due to a tax cut is not going to help you or the economy...it might get you a few extra tanks of gas in the next year...hardly a difference maker
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

An article suggesting that our high school history books are actually correct.

I have yet to read anything compelling to suggest that The New Deal didn't accomplish strictly positive things in its time. This revisionist history that has popped up recently claiming that The New Deal didn't pull the country out of the Great Depression just seems like desperate nonsense.

Some of FDR's programs have faltered over the years but that is due to poor upkeep, not a failure of the programs themselves.

I never believed/was taught the New Deal pulled us out of the Great Depression; it was WWII

Did you go to school in Arkansas?

Another politician who doesn't understand how to pay their taxes and stuff.

By the way, I would still take a big juicy bite out of her ass.

No

QuoteThe United States had not fully put its economic woes behind it by the time Japanese air and sea forces punched their fist through America's back door at Pearl Harbor in December 1941. Even near the end of the Depression, unemployment remained high. The 1940 census counted 11.1 percent of U.S. heads of household as unemployed. However, a deep, latent productive capacity existed within American industry.

Oh I'm not arguing that WWII didn't have an impact and finish the job of pulling the country out of the depression, but Republicans seem to be saying that the New Deal didn't play any part in it when clearly the evidence says that it did.

Oops - guess we're arguing pretty much the same thing then. But I win.

I would argue that you lose for being educated in Arkansas, but whatever.

I know. That reminds me of Tad Lincoln, too. If that farger had ever lived to go writing books or newspaper columns, etc., I would have SO ignored them. He would have been as biased as they got.

Yeah, it was pretty pathetic.  There are morons on both sides.  There was a "movie" released on youtube back in December about a guy that interviewed Obama voters, and made them look bad.

It would be great to have some sort of literacy, or history, or general knowledge test in order to vote.  I know it'll never happen but elections have boiled down to popularity contests where the candidate with the best marketing campaign wins.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

Can we ban ATV for comparing Nancy farging Pelosi to Abe Lincoln? Seriously farging kill yourself.
