There was a truce for 6 months which ended on Dec 19. Hamas then shot rockets into Israel because they claim Israel destroyed a tunnel they were constructing in Gaza. Hamas also claims that in destroying that tunnel they killed 2 workers. So in their minds/view Israel broke the truce even before Dec 19.

And even if these rockets were being shot...its akin to someone throwing a rock at you and you turning around running over their body with your car, getting out running into their house raping their mother, wife, and daughters, and then executing the men of the house. The self defense line is BS and is as fake as THEY HATE OUR FREEDOMS!

I'll be honest, I highly doubt that either side is going to be completely honest with who did what. But to say that Hamas started shooting rockets only after they said the truce was violated by Israel is well imo wrong. There are probably links that say each side is right. THis list is from Wkkipedia and cannot be confirmed but it shows alleged actions from both sides.

Your attempts at trying to pain Gaza, or Palestine, as some sort of luxurious place flooded with money and aid from foreign nations is also laughable. 79% of the Palestinians live in poverty. Its a crap hole. Its Israel that lives in luxury. And before you go claim Hamas stole their money read up on how Hamas became popular. They actually do a lot more than fail at killing Israelis. They run the hospitals and provide food when they can. Things which previous parties could not do/would not do because they were caught stealing the foreign aid and keeping it for themselves. Hamas became the ppl's party when they came out as the opposing party to corruption. Plus they got stuff done. Expecting them to re build Palestine when its constantly being illegally settled on all the while economically being blocked is a ludicrous claim.

I never said it was  a luxurious place or flooded with money. My issue is with the leadership of Palastine, I highly doubt they invest the majority of money they get into bettering the lives of the citizens of the country. I would bet they use most of the money for weapons, and their main focus is to eliminate another country. What has Hamas acoomplished since they took charge? I also agree Israel's settlements are illegal, and wrong inside of Palastine..

I am not buying Hamas's claim. Just like I do not buy Israel's claim. But where one terrorist organization fails to kill, the other succeeds beyong expectation and then instead of being punished is patted on the back for doing its job.

Hamas claims Israel broke the truce. Israel claims Hamas did. The truth is both probably did something. I really do not care for Hamas. What I care about is the reaction to Hamas's rockets. I do not even know what Israel's goal is anymore. They want to kill Hamas...ok cool but the 1000+ plus ppl dead have families who will now even more so  turn to grps like Hamas to do something or join these grps.

About Hamas accomplishing something how would they? They were blocked right when they were elected. Even then I told you they do more for the ppl than the previous parties. They provide food shelter and whatever else they need and then they use the ppl to fight Israel. For the ppl its a choice between food and support Hamas even when Hamas kills Israelis or other parties and corruption.

The one thing where we CAN point directly at Bush though, in terms of the nation's economy, is the amount of money that has been dumped into an unpopular and unfounded war. The country went from budget surplus to massive deficit based almost entirely on the cost of the Iraq war and that is squarely on Bush/Cheney's shoulders.

The budget surplus was largely a mirage, but no doubt the debt grew exponentially under Bush.

Can't disagree with the argument, though.  Bush did us no favors rushing into Iraq to fix Daddy's "mistake."

So everyone here knows that I was and am a big Obama supporter, but I have to say that after watching the extended coverage of the inauguration yesterday I am starting to understand why people who opposed him are so bitter about his celebrity status.

It was a huge turn off to see so many pop culture figures celebrating. On a day that Obama began his attempts at unifying the country, no one wants to see a bunch of young, stupid, rich bitches who have no grip on reality and no contact with the real world fawning over him. It does not do the incoming president any good to have movie stars and rock heroes falling all over themsevels to talk about how great he is. No one with a brain wants to hear what Jessica Alba and the like have to say about the state of our country's economy or our standing in the world. We just want her to take her cloths off, eat a bundle of bananas through her icehole and shut the farg up.

The thing is that none of this is Obama's fault. He didn't make himself popular with Alba (though if he could use that popularity to get her to do some anal porn that would be super) and he shouldn't be punished by people who don't like the celebrity that he's enjoying. But I do understand where it comes from now.
