Playing Hanson over Hood isn't nearly as unforgivable as playing Will(iam) James (Peterson) instead.

Reid decided to help us not have to draw the line there by playing them both instead of Hood, though.

Like I said - I'm sure it was something that he said or did - pissed in Reid's cornflakes, blew a coverage in practice, whatever.

So, answer my question: if Hood was benched for no reason, explain to me why his agent isn't crying to the media?  Why hasn't a grievence been filed with the player's union?  Why would he waste his time playing nice with this team if they don't want him anyway?
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Can't all of this just be thrown into a 'This coaching staff needs to be fired' thread?
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

there was a "reason"...because he didnt play well enough in practice...which we all know is BS...but how would one prove that...if it were a diciplinary measure as youre so blindly believing then he wouldnt have come out to the media and said he has no idea why he isnt playing...and reid has been asked directly on three different occasions why hood didnt play...if it was some diciplinary reason then he should have said its an internal team issue or rod was suspended but we wont say why...instead he said he didnt practice well enough....but he will come back out this week and work harder....so reid is either lying about why he was deactivated or he is just a vindictive POS...to be fair to reid tho it could have been banner/luries decision

...which we all know is BS...

See, that's just it - we have absolutely no farging idea what happened at practice.  I am most inclined to believe that AR made an example of Hood for some stupid reason...but there is absolutely zero evidence that his contract came into play here.  Again, if AR said he didn't practice well enough, why wasn't Hood standing up and saying "that's BS, I worked my butt off"?

He probably mouthed off in practice or took some plays off, and AR benched him to make an example - the type of bold move you keep calling for.  But since AR didn't throw him under the bus in front of the press, it must be some evil scheme.

The more I think about it, the more the idea falls apart:
1) If he didn't do anything wrong, why isn't he/his agent making a stink?
2) If it is about the contract, why would this be a good move for the Eagles?  If they are pulling BS just to hurt Hood's market value, why would they think Hood would still want to play in Philly?

"Blindly believing" seems to imply that someone put that option forward other than myself.  I was just throwing out a wild-assed theory that seemed a bit more plausible than your conspiracy theory.  Two quotes come to mind:

Occam's Razor (paraphrased): "All things being equal, the simplest solution tends to be the best one."
Hanlon's Razor: "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity."

When you have the choice between (A) a bull-headed, egomaniac coach overreacting to a practice situation and (B) a conspiracy theory involving mucking with a game plan to save a few bucks against next year's cap...I think I'll go with (A) Bob.

I'm not sure I agree with everything in your post but that is a fantastic quote.

Please don't take my comments as a defense of Andy or the FO...I just think IGY is talking out his ass.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Eaglez

Why doesn't someone just ask Rod Hood why he thought he was benched?

That would pretty much solve everything...

1) If he didn't do anything wrong, why isn't he/his agent making a stink?

hes already stated he has no idea why he as benched...thats hes playing well and is not hurt...he also said 'i dont want to read in between the lines'...sounds like hes playing the good solider knows that he has six games left in philly and then hes a free man so why rock the boat and show potential suitors that hes a problem child

2) If it is about the contract, why would this be a good move for the Eagles?  If they are pulling BS just to hurt Hood's market value, why would they think Hood would still want to play in Philly?

hood is NOT going to play in philly both sides know this...hes as good as gone...and because of that and hoods refusal to bow to the teams contract demands they are sticking it to him

"I didn't get any explanation," Hood said. "I guess I'm going to have to practice a little harder. ... If you look at the film, I definitely can't be blamed because I don't give up any balls. I don't give up any catches. I don't know what the reason is that I didn't dress."
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

That provides a much better inference of what the front office is doing.

i love how Rod Hood has turned into some kind of folk hero.
