I like elephant and tradiotanal. I only know of one bar in Philly that serves it on tap but its in center city. The place round the corner from me sells a case for $30.

My boy likes Sam summer ale...it's decent but I'm getting sick of it...so yesterday I bought their summer variety pack. Not bad...not great but there's a good variety to chose from.

Rome

Sam Adams is a notch above Bud Light.  In other words, it's swill.   And it's from Boston, and farg Boston.

all micro brews are for the most part disgusting (not that sam is a micro brew)

and yes on the boston thing

Their Octoberfest and Winter lager beers are pretty good, but I never found much outside of those from them that I've enjoyed

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I'm not a Sam Adams fan...I was pre gaming before the mmrbq and grabbed a variety pack so nobody would bitch. I wish their beer was hoppier because their standard flavor is pretty meh.

Why bother drinking if Bud Light is an option?  It tastes like piss water.    I'm not a beer snob either.   By that I mean I'll drink it if I'm at a tailgate or a party or whatever, but if I'm going to the liquor store for beer I'm not coming home with that shtein.

I drink this now...

The local ABC liquor stores carry it and it's delicious.

I can easily distinguish BL from other light beers. I did a taste test between BL Coors lite and Miller Lite and passed with flying colors (somebody called me on it so I had to prove I could tell the difference). To me it has a bite from the beechwood aging process that makes it stand out over other lite beers. A 30 pack of cans will run ya $20. Is it a great beer and would it be my first option hell no but for a cheap everyday beer it fits what I like.

phattymatty

they opened up a new costco in dc recently that has a liquor aisle. it's amazing.

anyway i've seen rumors on the internet for years that the costco brand (kirkland) vodka comes from the same distillery as grey goose. bought the biggest bottle i've ever seen (1.75 liters) and it cost $13.

have not tried it yet but plan to today. will report back.

What's in that punch?

General_Failure

Fishheads, whiskey, and since he mentioned Ben Franklin, Royal French panty squeezins.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Delaware legalized growler sales in liquor stores, got my first one tonight. 32 ounces of 16 Mile's Inlet IPA. 6.1% but can't taste the bitterness of the hops at all. Pretty good.
