White WR from Notre Dame that pitches for the Cubs

One of the recent ones (Draft King, 11/14) has them taking Samardzija, which would make igy very happy.

for the record i have no problem with white wr's....tho just as i did last year with stovall i think samardzija is a bum who is a product of weiss' system

Name me a first round prospect that plays on either line and has two first names. I'll bet you Bunkley's life that he's an Eagle next season.

while we were stuffing our faces today we got to talking at the table and discussed how many great player acquisitions have the eagles made in the last four years...whether it be by draft or free agency

we pretty much came up with two:

TO

and possibly andrews

theres gotta more tho no?

two players in four years?

Kearse when healthy, Howard when he's got Kearse. Everyone loved having Trotter back, even though he sucks. Stallworth would be, if he could play more than ten games.  Everywhere else they were supposed to have the players they needed already.

So, other than Andrews, nobody has been worth mentioning in the long-term. If there were, the team wouldn't suck as hard right now. At least I've got my black Andrews jersey. :yay

you can say howard could be if this or that....you can say that about anyone

but what players have they gotten who played actually performed for them at a high level

someone like howard or kearse can but they havent...in other words this points to their player evaluation as opposed to whether they are trying to get big time players in here

so it really is TO and andrews....and im not even sure if andrews is there yet

so one and a half players in four years

add in horrible coaching and jesus no wonder they suck

I'm not counting TO, since he didn't play a full season.

poz is slow, slow, slow, like IGY said, he has a chance to play middle

but we all know that they won't sign a high impact OLB, no matter what guys like Shawn Merriman or Bart Scott show they can do for a defense

This year he has not been nearly as fast as he was when he first got up there, but he is definately not a slow LB.  I can't see him being a MLB in the NFL he is too small for that, unless of course he bulks up.  Anyhow it really doesn't matter because Reid isn't going anywhere and there is no way they draft a LB in the first.

Trent Cole? But I guess he's got more to prove before being called "great".

I think Kearse HAS played a high level, as evidenced by the inflated stats of whoever's been playing opposite of him the last two years. I know you don't like to include factors like that when they go against your point IGY, but the fact is that Kearse, whether he was getting the numbers or not, was making life a lot easier on Trent Cole and Darren Howard by eating those double teams last year (for Trent Cole) and this year (for both). Now Howard and especially Cole are getting extra blockers. Tenn. even started chipping Juqua Thomas with the RB last week. You know you've got blockers to spare when you send an extra guy Juqua Thomas's way. With Kearse in the line-up, all that changes.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

kearse has been a disappointment...he was starting to shed that label this year before he got hurt...but theres no way you can say he played great at any time before this season...in no way am i saying he has been a bad player but he hasnt been a great signing and certainly hasnt been the impact player everyone thought they were getting...part of that goes on jj who for the first two years used him incorrectly far to often putting him in that stupid joker role when he should be coming off the edge at all times as he did this year

anyway im not trying to get into a specific argument over kearse...the point here is that since the lito sheldon draft the player personel dept has been pretty pathetic

Rome

Considering the kind of money he's been paid, Kearse has been a colossal disappointment.

General_Failure

They've all bee colossal disappointments. Everyone out there is making a ton of money, and far too few of them are playing at any level near "good."
