I echo Sheldon Brown's sentiments: Everyone is a grown man in that locker room, this is their profession, yet they cannot get up and go to work and perform at a high level at their profession. Someone shouldn't have to get you fired up, just playing the game and doing what you're doing should be plenty of motivation right there.

This team is a bunch of losers right now. They walk around with a 'whoa is me' attitude. Pretty sad from a bunch of adults who play a children's game for a living.

ice grillin you

players have taken on the personality of the coach....thats what happens when youve been here for eight years...funny that the two guys who seem to care the most and have some fire inside of them above all others are dawk and trotter...and its not a coincidence that they predate andy

McNabb's attitude towards losing is atrocious.  I'm so sick of the way he barely even acknowledges when the team loses.

This is the thing.  It all starts with Andy's attitude.

Andy is so even keeled, win or lose and his team follows suit.  That's all fine and well when they're winning, but when the Eagles are riding a two game losing streak and they need to call on some emotion to be able to respond in a desperate situation... they can't do it because they're so used to being so passive.  Andy has had them sleepwalking all year

JAX realized the weight of sunday's game... and they dug down deep and came in prepared to TAKE this game.  The Eagles were and still may be incapable of gathering that type of intensity.

Normally I would defend McNabb for being on the passive side after a loss.........or 3.  But this comment of his made me absolutely furious:

Quote"It's definitely recoverable," said McNabb. "It can't get any worse. I think we're 4-4. It's just not us. The way that we've lost these particular games, you can pinpoint different plays in the game that possibly could've changed it. It's time to understand what it is and be able to change it now."

1.  Yes, it can get worse and it will until YOU and just about everyone else on the team starts playing with some farging heart.

2.  You think?  It ain't that hard to keep track of.  It's not like you're at the midway point of a MLB season where there's 162 games.  Pay attention!

3.  So because the Eagles aren't the only team at 4-4, that makes it all ok?  No, it doesn't.  All 4 losses are attributed to this team's lack of intensity, desire and PRIDE.  They have no pride in themselves, at all.  And it's apparent in the way they play.

Donnie Mac needs to pull his head out of his ass real quick because the offense is a direct representative of the QB who leads it.  So knock off this "everything's gonna be alright" nonsense and start getting in people's asses.  A comment was made by one of the commentators during the game after Brown dropped a pass about how McNabb didn't get in Brown's face or anything.  And that's all well and good because I'm not a big fan of calling out your teammates in public.  But at the same time, the next time someone drops a perfectly thrown ball I'd like to see McNabb grab them by the facemask or something and just get in their ass.  It WILL send a message to the team.

you took that part WAY out of context....watch the PC...it was more of a studder than "i think we're 4-4"

Fair enough.....it's hard to pick up on that stuff when it's written rather than heard.  But it still doesn't change my opinions on the other 2 comments I made.

I don't think the issue with Andy is that he lost the team. Even if he can't fire up a team anymore, then the players should still be professional enough to be motivated for a football game. You should be fired up for every game.

I put that on the players, not Andy. I put other things on Andy like the playcalling, the prep, the adjustments, etc.

ofcourse some of us here have the insight to know that not only does reid not care about losing he has also lost the locker room and mcnabb still hasnt gotten the locker room back. its like a bad espn rumor mongering group.

Reid absolutely cares about losing. People only thing he doesn't because they moronically apply his press conference demeanor to his in the locker room demeanor. Both are totally different things. Andy wants to win and badly. Andy takes his job very seriously. There are a lot of things Andy is at fault for, but desire to win is not one. Not even close.

Well clearly you smartasses have insight into this that the rest of us do not.

Please, share the details of your intimate conversations with AR.

The point is that however badly he WANTS to win, he isn't doing it. And worse, he is failing with a very talented team. He is failing because of his own stubborn jackassery. So whether he really really wants to win or not makes no difference. It's time for a change. Stat.

Not time for a change yet. He gets the rest of the season to get on the rebound. If this team goes into the tank then we only replace Reid if there is someone out there better.

you state the obvious!  no one wants to lose.
Andy's methods are failing, or at least, becoming predictable, bordering on stupid, idiotic, bizarre, assanine.
He's losing a "feel" for the game, and relying too much on that "strategic" cardboard playlist in his hand.

We need to get back to running the football.  That was his quote in muther-farging JUNE!
He's like a broken record, every farging loss.  If he's too stupid to fix the one problem HE KNOWS EXISTS, it's time to GTFO.
Anyone but Reid.

As much as it pisses off the media and fans, very few coaches (if any) will actually name player's names or call out particular bad plays in a press conference in a derogatory way.   it's obvious to those who know football what the problems are.
I just hate his monotone interviews and canned replies over and over.  ARRRRRRRGH

It's not the players that are the problem.  Look up the running averages for this team this year.  It's over 4 yds a carry, I'd bet.  And we haven't been running more than 35% of the time DESPITE THIS.  It absolutely led to the loss vs. the Giants.  And he said we should run more.  The Bucs play two-deep more or less every down, are giving up nearly 5 yds a carry, and we run less than a third of the time.  The Jags game was never out of hand (score wise), and they barely run.

This "my method is vastly superior to all you iceholes" methodology isn't working, it is ENTIRELY Reid's fault, and he needs to be held accountable for it.  None of his players will take any of his threats on accountability seriously when he constantly gets a free pass for failure.

EDIT:  I just checked.  Even without McNabb's yardage they are averaging 4.8 yds a carry.  With McNabb it's 5.1.  WHY AREN'T THEY RUNNING?!
Anyone but Reid.
