I'm thinking of doing the PA tough mudder in June.  Anyone ever done it?  I feel like the douche factor is high on these things.  It looks farging intense though

I haven't but I want to. And you're right about the douches, but the truth is that any sort of fitness type event is going to have them. Sadly most people who care about being in shape are insufferable. Trust me on this, I have to live with myself and it ain't pretty.

Hey, don't be too tough on yourself...give your sweet ass a little credit.

My bro did one last year in PA.  He loved it, and his buddies are insufferable douches.  So yeah, bring a knife.

I get that, for sure. I've thought about doing one, but hearing guys in the gym pump themselves up for it isn't enticing. I'm also not sure I want to pay money to workout in mud.

I feel similarly about a triathalon, but I think I'd do something like that before the mud thing, just because I think that would be one of those things that while it would suck to do, it will be awesome to have done. But some of the guys who do those things are just iceholes.

When the weather permits, I do a fair bit of cycling, primarily with a hybrid bike. When I ride, I usually go with a pair of cargo shorts because of the pockets, and either a tank or a long-sleeve tee, depending on the weather. It cracks me up whenever I pass another rider, because 9 out of 10 times, it's some seriously fat dude squeezed into full pro cyclist gear...compression shorts, matching spandex top, douche sport sunglasses....and I can only assume the goal was to look like Stay Puft Lance Armstrong. And when I say it cracks me up, I mean it makes me want to push him into traffic.

Point is, douches are everywhere.

SunMo

yeah, fat people are douches too, they just aren't seen as much seeing as they are usually on their couch or at mcdonalds.

regarding the money for the mudder, i was told it's tax deductible because the money goes to Wounded Warriors.

Tough Mudder does support WWP but I don't believe your entry fee is tax deductible. Tough Mudder is a for profit company.  Maybe a portion of your entry fee is donated to WWP, but that donation would come from Tough Mudder, not you.

SunMo

yeah well i'm still writing it off so farg you
