Worse than counting them is talking about it.

This board is like a chicken shack full of hens clucking to each other about their female problems.  The people who don't give a shtein...Roosters.

I'm a Rooster.  Ever seen a Rooster farg a chicken?

If you're looking to burn calories don't bother with crunches, they aren't going to burn shtein.

I do the crunches because I have to as they are part of the physical fitness test we take every year.  I do a loose version of interval training already though....jog slow for a couple minutes, then bump the speed on the treadmill up to like 10 and hold it for about a minute.  Then slow down for a few and speed back up.

Also Sarge-if you're into calorie counting and tracking all the food/caloric intake you eat on a daily basis get the Myfitnesspal app. Very easy to use and keeps you in check.

I've got a similar app already.  It was free and keeps tabs on what I eat and then also gives me a workout summary also.

This thread is a treasure trove of womanish bullshtein.

Counting calories, jesus christ.

You all do know that you're going to die, right?

You're all going to die no matter how many chin ups you do or how many calories you "take in."

When my job requires me to maintain a certain weight and body fat % along with a higher level of physical fitness than your typical ditch digger, then yeah, I'm going to keep better track of what I'm eating and how it's affecting my body.  Because if I end up being overweight, body fat or unable to pass my fitness test, then it's no reenlistment for me, which puts me out of a job in 6 months and costs me some $$ in my pension.  That loss of income will probably force me to cancel the service on the directv receiver in my bedroom.

Not to mention that this arthritis in my knees and hip is absolutely killing me, so it would definitely be beneficial to my long term health to take better charge of exactly what I'm eating to keep the weight down because hours of running and other physical activities simply isn't in the cards for me anymore.  So while eating what I want and just working it off later has worked for me in the past, it's just not possible for me right now and probably won't be ever again.

I don't care if a change in diet increases my life expectancy, just as long as it helps ease some of the pain and stress that my body goes through on a daily basis for however long I'm around.

In short, farg off.

You really need to learn to post this:

Nuh uh...

Diomedes

Ha....you sit in an office all day and watch your calories.

I work for a living and eat whatever I want.

Sarge

here's a great way to watch what you eat, still be able to eat carbs in the form of beans, and keep your protein intake high. You also get one cheat day where you can eat whatever you want. Best of all, no calorie counting:

I follow this plan as a means to shed fat and maintain lean muscle. Down 2 pant sizes in 3 months with very little gym time.

Anyone ever use NO-Xplode? Creatine Monohydrate?

Eagaholic

I've found creatine does make a difference with strength and will add some bulk and help a little with sports performance as well as lifting, though it does nothing for endurance. The important thing to remember is to stay well hydrated or there is some increased risk of muscle tears, strains and such. I think EAS is a good brand.

MURP

I used Creatine back in the day when i did power lifting.  It definitely works if used properly.

rjs246

I plan on using it in a wildly improper fashion.

I'm bored with my workouts so I'm going to try some new stuff to see what it does. I like treating my body like an amusement park.
