MAYFAIR

Quote"I'm a white guy from the ghetto," he said. "I've had experiences a lot of others might not have had." He is currently married with two children. He has tattoos in remembrance of his mother, Jesus and "Philly" on his left hand.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

mayfair wouldve been my guess. it's kenzo with better cheesesteak places.

Funny you should bring that up.  I got married a few weeks ago (an afternoon wedding\reception) and wifey and I shared the Barclay Prime cheesesteak for dinner.

Sure its $100, but it comes with a half bottle of champagne.

(yeah, yeah, I'm the dbag that took a picture of his food, but I had to capture what $50 of cheesesteak looks like)
I'm not from Philly but some say I'm blunt.

So it was pretty good? I'd try it to say I tried it

paco

We disagree if it was $100 good (including the 1/2 bottle).  She loved it, I thought it was good but not quite up to the hype.

But we tried it for that exact reason.  It was the resturant we had our first date at and we walked out saying that if we ever went back we had to try the cheesesteak.  So for that reason alone it was worth it.

Glad you finally got to go back and try it. Sorry to hear you got married though.

I wonder how to grade a $100 cheesesteak - like what would make it $100 good? I don't know if it's possible to get to that point with a cheesesteak. A bone in ribeye at SW or Carnevino? Yeah...

Either way cool that ya tried it and congrats again on the marriage!

about time...

QuoteToday, Philadelphia City Council unanimously passed the Hate Crime Bill introduced by Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown and Councilman Jim Kenney. The bill adds a new chapter to the Philadelphia Code to provide for additional penalties for criminal conduct motivated by hatred regarding sexual orientation, gender identity and disabilities as defined in the City's Fair Practices Ordinance, all of which are not covered by existing state hate crime laws.

Yes.  Supposedly the people who live in Port Richmond, Germantown, Kensington etc consider anything north of Pennypack Park the suburbs.  Which is nonsense.  Montco and Bucks are the suburbs.  Northeast Philly is part of Philly which, when I last checked, is a city.

parkwood is a valid neighborhood in the city of philadelphia with solid borders...its not even an argument...but philly is the most parochial city in the world and neighborhood vs. neighborhood shtein like that is as old as the city itself and will never end

people in pennsport will tell you that eastwick isnt part of the city....hell theres a lot of cranial lumps who dismiss anything west of the schuylkill as not being the real city
