FYI, according to HockeysFuture.com, which ranks NHL prospects, Picard is the top defenseman, Ruzicka is the top RW and Eager (who's been with the Flyers before) is the top LW...

unfortunately, they are the top prospect the FLYERS have...not top NHL prospects.

yup, but they've been picking in the 21-30 range for 10 years, so they rarely get an opportunity at a good pick, and the top prospects they had are already on the team (Niittymaki, Carter, Richards, Umberger, Pitkanen)...

Flyers put Nedved, Dimitrakos, and Baumgartner on waivers

My first reacton when I saw this on the bottom line was that there is a trade in the works. Hopefully its for a Goalie and possibly a speedy defenseman.

Down 1-0 in Tampa but they're definitely playing better hockey. Ruzicka looks pretty good so far. Forsberg is out with a wrist injury after getting shoved into the boards in the 1st.

SD_Eagle5

Goal by Fedetenko followed by a nice boobie shot from some tramp in the audience.

2-0 Tampa

Game. Over.

And, of course, there was no answer from the cowardly team in Orange.

I'm having a hard time even watching this team right now.  :boom

They're a bunch of Hoydas. The one thing I always loved about the Flyers was even if they lost they would still be one of the tougher teams in the league. Not this team. They're slow, they don't finish checks, they get beat to the puck, they don't do the muck and grind work in the corners, they don't stick up for each other, there's no presence in front of the net. They need to grow some balls.

they look like they've quit on Hitch

Hoydas lose 4-1. I guess its a step forward considering it wasn't 9-1.

I missed the 3rd period.  Ho-hum.

wouldnt be surprising...hitch is tolerable when things are going well but when your team sucks hes untenable

not because hes a bad coach but he needs to go..hes a three year guy that you hire to take a veteran team to the cup...he had his run in 04 and it didnt work out...time to move on to a coach who can fully develop the young players...something hitch is not suited for
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

I love hitch but its time to go.  Start over, get Poulin in place of Clarke.  I've been lucky enought to be on business travel this week so i missed the debacle against buffalo.  Almost went to a thrashers game last night here in the ATL.

i agree, i get the feeling he's the type of coach that beats you up enough to crush your confidence, not build it up.  this team is so mentally fragile, it's sickening.  Richards said as much after the Buffalo game.

now there's a great idea, seriously.  As much as I love the Flyer's history, Clarke is still stuck in the past, and will never result in a Cup challenging team in the new NHL.  He won't commit to a #1 goalie (in the past and present (maybe Nitty)), and still insists on burly/slow d-men.
Snider needs to cut ties with Clarkie (sorry Bob).
