By I mean you don't hear shtein about the nhl. like i had no idea the season was starting until the day it began. thats pretty sad that a media whore like me would not notice a supposed major professional sport beginning their season. just an observation...that...the sport is well dead. bettman did a good job.

you act like this is a bad thing....the less attention it gets the more it keeps bandwagon whore espn fans like you away from the sport...its kinda cool for 95% of the fans of a sport to be knowledgable and real...nothing makes me happier than to know that people like you dont know about hockey...its one of the things that seperates it from all the other sports...very low douchebag factor

i personally hope the league never blows up....my team aint going anywhere and either is the sport...it needs to struggle enough to get rid of 6-8 teams
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Bingo. The league got way ahead of itself by expanding to its current team number. No way the NHL should have 30 teams.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

MDS is right though, Bettman screwed everything up.  IGY is it making you sick right now with some of the crap calls that are being made.  The PK has been great so far(du2 Richards playing unbelievable) but league wide the whistle is being blow at a ridiculous pace.

This is a Football town!
even as a Flyers season tix holder, I don't really get into hockey until January...when NFL season is winding down.

except douchebags have money to spend to see and support teams. which is another thing the nhl lacks compared to other leagues.

The flyers sell out every game, but there are teams like the Panthers and Lightning that cant even get half capacity.  I have to agree the sport needs a downsizing, new Commish, and a business plan to get off VS.  Comcast owns the rights for the NHL Network but it sounds like VS will basically be theyre version of that, which is sad.  I really loved them pimping the new season of 3 brooklyn guys go fishing during the game tuesday  :puke

yes...the ranger game on saturday was particularly agregious...but im way more upset with fighting basically being non exisitent in the game

the nhl has very few attendance problems...its the tv situation that is hurting it

Versus?  Vs?  Or whatever the heck they're being called this week.

I fully expect the next NHL deal to be on public access cable.

I complained to VS about the broadcast tuesday night, how Olyck calld the flyers the Flowers.  Tuesday night was the most brutal broadcast i've ever heard.   I told them in the complaint that the constant screen graphics covering the screen during play made no sense.  Last year they made adjustments when fans voiced their opinions, hopefully that stays true.   Having center ice now , its amazing how well TSN covers hockey.

The only problem I have with Center Ice is the same I have with Extra Innings:  No home broadcasts for the Philly teams.

Got to say, though:  I enjoy both the Rangers and the Devils broadcasters.  They're fairly neutral, and they call a good game.  Probably why Davidson and Emerick have both been used on national broadcasts.

The Sabres announcers should be drawn and quartered.

the flyer announcers last year were bar none the worst in the nhl...the phillies are an embarrassment....im glad i rarely ever have to hear either...

i dont know how you can stomach chico resch...he is a disgrace...and emerick whuile not the homer that chico is is unlistenable in general

i agree on rosen and jd tho they were the best in the biz

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
