Surprising to see that they had so much more success running the ball to the Thomas/Herremans side than the Runyan/Andrews side.

Herremans is looking like a real nice pick by Andy.

herremans played well no doubt...but i think it had more to do with mario williams not being ready to play yet than anything else...he was awful

I looked for reasons to like the Mario Williams pick, but if they knew in April that Davis might not be 100%, there should have been no hesitation for them to ink a deal with Bush.

Like I've said, Mario Williams honestly looked like a cheap knock-off of Darren Howard.

The Texans could have signed Howard if they really wanted to, and drafted Bush.  They suck.

MURPH, do you have or plan to have any stats on sacks and hurries? I'm just wondering, I know you have a lot on your plate already.

Not yet.   the NFL already tracks em so it would have to be some kind of original stat Id be looking for.  If you have any ideas let me know.

Is there really a need to track hurries?  We got rid of Mamula years ago.

You could track all the times Madden mentions Favre, Cheesesteaks and TO whenever the Eagles play on Sunday Nights.

Edit:  Nevermind.  I just remembered that the Eagles don't have any SNF games this year.  Oh well.  Just do it next year then.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of when Herremans or Ruynan get beat and their man gets the sack. I've never seen the NFL track that. Maybe they do. But we were talking O-line, I should have been more specific.

I've seen that tracked before but I can't say that I recall the NFL ever tracking it.  It's probably something I read on some obscure football site or maybe even another message board at some point.

Regardless, I agree that would be a good stat to keep track of.

Murp, I don't know if you plan on tracking any of these but I think they may be cool things to keep an eye on if you have the time:

Offensive penalties that negate a 1st down/touchdown.  Even getting a little more in depth, how many penalties are "drive killing" penalties.  ie: 3rd down penalties

3rd down defensive penalties that allow the opposition to maintain possesion that result in a score (someone else can think of a shorter name for it)

Missed takeaways (dropped ints, unrecovered fumbles).  This stat would obviously be a matter of opinion as to whether or not a dropped int was "catchable" or not and whether or not the defense had a legitimate shot at a fumble recovery.

Thanks for the input everyone.  There are some interesting idea's here to take a look into.  I'll have to see how much time each one would take to do every week and figure out which ones are most time efficient to track along with everything else I have.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
