i always bought the lost it in the lights excuse as pinky was clearly not comfortable having to look up for a mcnabb pass being in pads and playing professional football

Right.

That play would have been so much better if Clark had crushed him anyway, and then Taylor would spit on Pinky's vadge as he lay sprawled, gargling on the field.

It's easier if you're able to buy into Dio's bullshtein about it being a bad throw.

The more I look at it, the more convinced I am that he's not half the Hoyda you guys think he is.

He slows up for the pass at the 19 on the left hash, from which position there is NO way he could have caught the ball, and he saw as much.  At that point, the play was over.  Then he sees the defender and ducks the hit.  The ball landed behind him and the defender, between the hashes, at the 16 or so.  Well outside of reach, given Pinks position and (at that point, lack of) momentum.  If he had continued running instead of slowing up then he might have caught the ball, and wouldn't have taken a huge hit, because the catch would have been two or three strides further down field, preventing the defender from lining him up from across the field.  But Pinkston misjudged where the ball was, slowed up too soon, and was out of position.  It was not catchable given their positions and momentum.

The throw was good, I was mistaken to intimate otherwise.  Pinkston blew the play, but not by ducking the hit.

Taylor is the best expectorator in the league, even if he's not truly the best safety as some might wrongly believe.

He blew the play by ducking the hit. He's on the 19 about a second before the ball lands. Run a yard more and jump in the farging air. He could have had that play so easily, still.

I don't hate ToothPink, I just feel he was completely one-dimensional.  That one-dimension was useful, and the Birds really missed it last season, but there are guys who can run fast and be more productive than ToothPink (like Stallworth, I hope), and that's why I'm glad his ass was kicked to the curb.
Anyone but Reid.

He blew the play by stopping up too soon.  The ducking was insult to injury.  That's the last I'm gonna say about the play.  Have fun thinking he's a Hoyda, tough guys.

Mad, I completely agree.

Having just watched that video, you're dead on Dio.  If he had kept running full speed it would have landed on the numbers, and he probably scores.  He pulled up, most likely because he lost track of the ball.

BTW, if you want a real laugh, go to Wikipedia and search for Todd Pinkston.

I cant believe anyone buys that lost in the lights shtein.  Pinkston saw the safety coming to clean his clock.  It's called peripheral vision.  He fargin bailed on that play in one of the most pathetic things i've seen on a football field.  Luckily for Pink,  Marcus Vick stepping on Elvis' knee takes the cake as the worst.

I agree - he stopped the pattern short and looked up for the ball, and started back-pedaling.  When he saw the safety come he ducked.  The second he turned for the ball it was over - McNabb threw it so he could run under it.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Minnesota is currently in discussions with free agent WR Todd Pinkston.
A deal is not thought to be imminent due to the uncertain status of the former Eagle's Achilles. Pinkston would likely not be guaranteed a starting job if he were to end up with the Vikings.

Brad Childress confirmed the Vikings are talking with the agent for free agent receiver Todd Pinkston.

Sounds like a few teams are interested in Pinkston and quite frankly there is probably no hurry because he's not 100 percent due to the Achilles' tendon injury that ended his 2005 season. Pinkston likely would benefit from some time off.
