What I am actually hoping for is that Brown and Stallworth basically come out neck and neck for the title of "#1 WR".  If they roll coverage to or double Stallworth, Brown eats them up, and vice versa. I am really hoping that without the pressure, by season's end, Brown has really come on, and establishes himself as a solid #1 option.

In terms of how well statisically Stallworth will do, I think the fact that McNabb will have so many options with Brown, LJ, Westy, the Showboat, the ball will be spread around so much that Stallworth will have decent, but not spectacular numbers. I think 800 yards and 6-8TDs would be awesome.

The real effect Stallworth will make is, all of the other guys on the field will be open more often, and will have more room to make a big play.

I like the signing also...IMO it will take him a month (4 games) before he gets significant game reps ::)

It only takes 63 yds/game to reach 1000 yds.  Stallworth can't get that?

sure, he could.  If we take his career YPC he would need 70 receptions this year.  If McNabb has 275 completions, Stallworth would get 25% of McNabbs completions.   Decide for yourself if that is going to happen.

It's not that he can't.  It's simply unlikely that he will, all factors considered.

I've got an idea...

How about instead of arguing about whether the dude gets 800 yards or 1000+ yards we just be happy that they got a good receiver.

Sheldon Brown on the trade

Quote"We said goodbye to three players who I've played with for my entire career -- Mark Simoneau, Todd Pinkston and Koy Detmer. Mark and I were especially close, and our wives are great friends, so I can honestly say I cried when I found out he was traded. Nobody works harder than Mark. He was a big piece of our defense and our special teams.

Quote"I also understand that to get a player of Donte' Stallworth's caliber, you need to give up a good player. I think Donte' is going to be a big-time help to our offense. He is a big-play maker, and as a defensive back I can tell you that you always have to respect the kind of speed he brings to the field. He is fast and physical and he'll go out there and get after it.

"I've said this before: I liked the receivers we had. We didn't have that speed guy, per se, but we had some good, young receivers who are going to make some plays. Now, with Donte', I think this is an outstanding receiving corps. This is going to be a tough offense to figure out and to stop.

That popping sound you just heard was RJS's head exploding when he hears about Sheldon crying.

He was crying with rage. That's okay.
